The preparations for Scotfest 2008 are at full steam and the whole team are getting very excited as August 9th aproaches.

Remember, Scotfest is Europe's largest free Scottish event with an official SOBHD Highland Dancing Competition, live folk and folkrock bands from Scotland, Nederlands Championship Highland Games, Pipe Bands and much much more.

Scotfest 37000 visitors enjoy a day in the sun
After what could be arguably the largest free Highland event in Europe we took a few days off to nagenieten as they say here in Holland. As I look back on a wonderful day I would like to thank every one who clubbed together to make the second Scotfest such a memorable day
Next year’s event already promises to be even bigger and better than this year with a chance of hosting the European championship highland dance contest.
Next years event will not be on queen’s day and the Scotfest team are now in talks with the Gemeente to secure a date for next years event (keep an eye on the web site for more info).
The web master and myself have been inundated with all your photos of this year’s Scotfest
Keep sending them in and we will get the best ones on the site as soon as possible.
Not only will we have a new date for 2008 but also a new web site so keep checking back to see the improvements as they happen and of course as Scotfest is for the benefit of us all any tips will be warmly welcomed.

Also all the highland dancers that took part in the competition not only earning them self’s some valuable points but also providing a great days entertainment for all of our visitors and a special thanks to the Scottish board of highland dancing for all there help in presenting a professional contest
