Interests
General
My interests are many, but my hobbies few. There simply isn't enough time, money or energy to be able to accomplish all of the things I WANT to do or continue them on a regular basis.
Here are a few things I've done, enjoyed and would like to do forever...
Language-Learning, Karate, Cessna-Flying, River-Rafting, Mountain-Climbing, Cliff-Diving, Outdoor-Camping, Sky-Diving, Horseback-Riding, Sail-Boating, Beach-Combing, Dog-Training, SCUBA-diving, Child-rearing, Friend-making, Hand-holding, Contract-negotiatingMusic
I dig Classical Music (Especially the wild stuff that gets used as theme-material in old war-flicks, like that "Wagner" that was played during a helo-cav raid in "Apocolypse Now". Da na na NAHHH na...! Da na na NAHHHHHH na...!)
Classic Rock, R&B and Jazz are my music of choice.
Country-Western lyrics are great, but I just can't get into the music itself.
Favorites: ELO, BTO, CCR, BOC, LRB, EW&F AC/DC, KISS, Boston, Eagles, Chicago, Meatloaf, Rush, STYX, Who, Deep Purple, Queen, ZZ Top, Jackie Wilson, Beach Boys, Big Bopper, Jerry Lee Lewis, Ritchie Valens, Four Tops, Buddy Holly, Coasters, etcetera, etcetera, etcetera...Movies
UK (C4) Documentary The Great Global Warming Swindle
According to a group of scientists brought together by documentary-maker Martin Durkin, if the planet is heating up, it isn't your fault and there's nothing you can do about it. We've almost begun to take it for granted that climate change is a man-made phenomenon. But just as the environmental lobby think they've got our attention, a group of naysayers have emerged to slay the whole premise of global warming.
===========================
So many great flicks..., so little time.
First..., a confession:
I almost NEVER watch movies in theaters. It's just not worth the price, the crowds, the hassle, the lines, the sticky floors, the wet seats, the risk of disease, disaster or terroism AND..., if I wait for the DVD, I can rent it for a week, watch with friends change the languages and adjust the volume.
I grew up with "Star Wars" and can't seem to free myself from this addiction to space and time travel themes... I have, however, seen many great works and this list will grow.
Favorites: "Casablanca", "To Sir, With Love", "The Godfather", "Snow Falling on Cedars", "Legends of the Fall", "Dances with Wolves", "Sommersby", "A River Runs Through It", "Map of the Human Heart", "The Last of the Mohicans", "All the Pretty Horses", "Far and Away", "First Knight", "Titanic", "Fried Green Tomatoes", "The Cider House Rules"Television
Books
I love to read... I like anything that's historically-correct, factually-accurate, scientifically-significant or action-packed.
I get into Reader's digest and National Geographic articles. Books that explain the truth about people, places and politics always get my attention. No dramatic novelas for me, Man. Life and women offer enough drama... Why look for it in a book...?
Favorites: Mutiny on The Bounty, Men Against The Sea, Pitcairn's Island (The Bounty Trilogy), The Bible
Heroes
My heroes are numerous and you can expect this list to grow, but THESE came to mind as I completed this profile... ..
Heads of State (Leaders):
Ronald Reagan, George W. Bush, Winston Churchill, Theodore Roosevelt, Margaret Thatcher, Abraham Lincoln, George Washington, David Ben-Gurion, Richard M. Nixon, Thomas Jefferson, John F. Kennedy, Condoleeza Rice, Richard Cheney, Donald Rumsfeld, (List will grow...)
Pioneers:
Benjamin Franklin, John Maynard Keynes, George Washington Carver, Alan Turing, Albert Einstein, Robert Goddard, Charles Lindbergh, Walt Disney, Henry Ford, Sam Walton, Charlie Chaplin, Wilbur & Orville Wright, (List will grow...)
Athletes & Actors:

ALL of my heroes are great humanitarians, but these are heroes specifically for their humanitarian efforts.
Humanitarians:
Agnes Gonxha Bojaxhiu, Gyalwa Karmapa, Sompop Jantraka, Martin Luther King Jr., Florence Nightingale, Billy Graham, (List will grow...)

Well..., first of all... I love ME...
...XICAN food best, but I like everything on most menus. :D
I'm really good at learning languages, teaching life lessons, creating crafts, using tools, driving vehicles and heavy equipment, entertaining others, selling quality products and services, collecting anything and everything, caring, loving etc...
I spend a lot of time thinking about how much I'll accomplish during my life, how many people I can help before I go and for what and how long I'll be remembered once I'm gone.
The most private thing I'm willing to admit here is that I'm 40 and feeling like my life has just begun... I've accomplished much, but have little to show for it. I plan to learn much more, work harder and value people even more.
OK, OK...! You want something even more private...?My marriage was "arranged", but I couldn't be more IN love.
Some things I could never do without are people to teach, help and lead; People to learn from, admire and emulate; People to like, love and compete with; Pets to care for and be loved by; Things to utilize and freedoms to use them; Places to go and reasons to visit them.
What am I doing with my life...?
Building a HomeStay business and a few websites to support my future activities, sanity and lifestyle.
Raising my son to be a man, raising my daughter to be a lady.., trying to forgive their mom for leaving, training myself not to live in the past or regret mistakes.
..Searching for a good woman to spend the second half of my life with...
(I found her.)

Who I'd like to meet:
Hoping to meet new people and make NEW friends..., but mostly want to re-connect and reminisce with OLD friends. It would be nice to hook up with some business-minded folks with principles, ideas, entrepreneurial spirit and a sense of honor, loyalty and justice too. Here are some albums to look through.
