The first four tracks in the player are live from the Music From The Quiet concert given at Third Street Music School Settlement on October 16, 2009. They are all original compositions and feature Bryan Murray on saxophone, Zach Brock on violin, Mauricio Zottarelli on drums, Matt Geraghty on bass and Gerald Dowd on percussion. Elegy features Ryan Green on vocals.
The next three solo guitar pieces (Jobim Medley, Campero, Arpeggio Etude) are from the Artist Performance Series Concert I did at Third Street Settlement School on Oct 10, 2008. Arpeggio Etude is my composition, Campero is from Astor Piazzola and Jobim Medley is of course Antonio Carlos Jobim.
Tive Razao, the new CD from Ryan Green and Scott Anderson is available. Get it digitally here:
Quero Saber was a chord progression that I wrote while travelling in Brazil. Mari Anne Jayme wrote that awesome melody and Carla Hassett put lyrics to it. That's Mari Anne you hear on vocals, Jeff Hanley on bass, Geraldo de Oliveira on percussion and I did guitars, samples, drum programming and produced. You can purchase the track here.
Toninho is from my 2003 cd release, Batizado, and was recorded in Minas Gerais, Brazil with its namesake, Toninho Horta, Lincoln Cheib on drums, Ricardo Fiuza ..s and Ivan Correa on bass. Geraldo de Oliveira plays percussion and produced the session in Brazil.
Scottinho is a name that developed for me through my experience with capoeira, an Afro-Brazilian art form. The music from my CD refelects my experience with capoeira and Brazilian culture in general. I don't play capoeira anymore, and very few people still call me Scottinho, but it's still there, as a part of me.
After 11 years in Chicago, I moved to NY in 2005 to pursue a career in film music. One of the first movies I did went to the Sundance Film Festival and is opened theatrically in 2007. It is currently available online and netflix. See the trailer here .
I teach at Third Street Settlement School in the East Village.
Also, I produced a compilation CD of indie artists covering war-time songs to benefit the Intrepid Fallen Heroes Fund. Click here for more info.
