Like any artist, the Oklahoma City based band Thirteen Stars has been through their share of styles, sounds and phases only to emerge more mature and tighter than before. And after 350 plus shows in nine states, some being alongside many nationally known artists such as Maroon 5, Dishwalla, The All-American Rejects and Blue October, part of the band was ready for yet another style and sound.
With 2008 here, the band’s 10 year anniversary, Scott and Jason decided to further their musical horizons by forming an acoustic duo version of Thirteen Stars. The duo version of the band consists of many Thirteen Stars classics reworked with keyboards and acoustic guitars, but also adds many more cover songs in the style of Coldplay, The Beatles, The Flaming Lips, U2 and many more. With this arrangement both Scott and Jason hope this will allow them to play at many more diverse venues and broaden their fan base even larger level.
So with the full band in the studio working on a new record, fans can enjoy a bit of a softer side of Thirteen Stars and see the two give their take on some songs you know and love. It may be softer in volume, but it’s definitely not softer in content.
