Modern and current, yet with hints of the musical geniuses of the past.
Scott Ashley is a musician, singer and songwriter from Stoke-on-Trent, who BBC Online feel is "headed for big things," and the frontman of the phenomenal Scott Ashley Band.
Scott Ashley Band have recently been into the studio to record a single, "Blinkin' Not Thinkin'" with producer Russ Keffert (The Junk Scientist) who has worked with acts such as Blur, which will be released later this year, as well as his popular MySpace profile which has over 7000 friends. The last UK tour that Scott Ashley did, in association with MySpace.com was a sellout with every venue having to turn people away and a massive new fanbase who bought every copy of Scott's EP and signed up to his mailing list.
Scott Ashley began his musical life as the frontman of various bands in the Stoke-on-Trent area, before moving to study Law at Warwick University. Here he formed The Fire, who shot to immediate success through writing and recording the official world cup anthem for England Supporters Association in 2002. They followed this with many high profile festival appearances and as the support act for a number of top name bands, before splitting for Scott Ashley to concentrate on his burgeoning solo career. In his time with the band, he won numerous songwriting accolades as well as being chosen to represent Great Britain in the Universities Eurovision Song Contest.
Since going solo, Scott Ashley has gone from strength to strength, finding his own unique style of music and image and working with a whole host of producers. The crowning glory came in September 2006 when his first UK tour played to sellout audiences at every date. Since then, he has supported acts such as Amy McDonald, Amy Studt, David Ford and Envy & Other Sins and his web presence has been increased with three fansites and a promo team both set up by dedicated supporters. Added to this the fact that he has a massively loyal following in his hometown of Stoke, where he has headlined the biggest music venue The Sugarmill there no less than 6 times in less than two years. He also won the award for "Best New MySpace Artist 2006" which was voted for by readers of now defunct blogazine The Zapping! and a further award for Pop Artist with Most Potential. Time spent honing his craft with top names at the British Academy Of New Music has helped, and Scott Ashley and His Band are getting bigger by the day.
You can catch Scott Ashley live at one of his regular live dates, in Stoke-on-Trent and London, as well as nationwide where demand is high. He has also got some international dates booked as well. It is advisable to sign up to his official MySpace profile for the most up-to-date news. His songwriting abilities are the envy of his peers. As fellow singer-songwriter Daniel Powter has said, "there wasn't a single song in his set I didn't wish that I'd written myself".

first i was wandering round pestering security who were well OTT. ringo went passed with drum kit, i was like 'are you ringo?', he said 'yeh' smiling and kind of ignored me. then paul came plain clothes, no wig and said 'sorry for the wait i'm paul'. later i met george who was doing the accent. shook hands. i was just sayin how they were good and rubbish like how i couldn't recognise them out of dress. sort of wasted it.
