It has been Mr. Avery's privilege to perform with many of South Florida's best singers, musicians and provocateurs during his career. This list (updated hourly) includes Kirk Adams, Liz Adams, David Anthony, Steve Argy, Shannon Battle, Carlos Benthien, Blake (aka Kat Bowser, Booger, or the Divine Miss Phlegm), Jeff Blake (we appeared slightly), Johanna the Queen Bee (I'm not tryin' to spell that last name but it ends in "ski"), John Boiko, John Catalano, Clik, Beth Cohen (Dangerous Betty), Keith Cronin, Patty Ecker, Cathi Guidara, Michael (Bongo) Hawn, Tim (Cookie Dough) Kuchta, Bob Macdonald, Dean Madonia, Rebecca Miale, Tom McWilliams, Rick Morris (God rest his beautiful soul), Joe Moss, Addie O'Connor, Carl (Kilmo) Pacillo, Greg Passmore, Paul Pettit, Jason (Goat's Don't Shave) Philbin, Cyndi Rapp, Randy Ridenour, Joan Rose, Larry Rubin, K.J. Lots of these fine folks have left town for greener musical pastures, and Mr. Avery is trying not to take it personally.
Mr. A would be remiss to not mention the musicians who inspired, tolerated and encouraged him way back in his days as a band member: Doug Schappell, Joe Di Pietro and Jim Jeniken (Crossfire), Doug Adams, Brent Adams, Lester Channen, Kevin McCarver, Kevin Ciccone, Chris Koegle (The Strange Contenders) Sheldon Voss, Franni Mulla and Bob Hester (Grits And Gravy) and mostly his first original band, Straight Face: Brent Adams, Shale Macks, Lisa Garofalo (Macks) and sometimes John Raimonda with special appearances by Terry Cassidy and Phil (Father Time) Grillo. A wealth of great memories, and maybe some great music, too, lost now to the ether, but, hey, you had to be there. >

Seems I've been dragged kicking and screaming into cyberspace by my friend Judy Blem. She found me tangled in a pile of eight-track tapes and typewriter ribbon at the corner of Geezer and Obscurity, and I thank her. I look forward to communicating , pontificating, ranting (and back pedaling) with you fine folks, as well as keeping you apprised of my winding path through music and life. This will work better if I pretend someone else is writing it, so here goes:
Those of you too young to remember Scott Avery as the voice of TV's Winky the Wonder Shrimp may know him as a songwriter/performer in the South Florida area. As a solo performer of his own material, Scott has been the opening act for Bad Company, Joe Cocker, Hall and Oates, Huey Lewis & The News, Styx, the Little River Band, Bill Maher, the Nitty Gritty Dirt Band, Vonda Shepard and Eric Burdon and the Animals (true). His performances have brought the normally jaded and distracted South Florida audiences to paroxysms of joyful tears and primal wailing (well, just that one guy once.)
He was named Best Acoustic Performer by City Link (too long ago for you to care) and has been fortunate to win a couple of song contests, almost as many as Bob Macdonald (but I'm taller, much taller), and he is honored to have had his songs recorded by a wide range of stellar artists (not famous either, but check out the Download area soon for examples.)
Mr. A is also a somewhat well-known interpretive entertainer (cover monkey) with a 1000-plus repertoire. You may have caught his highly perspiratory act in many venues over the years, including long stints at Fitzwilly's Pub, Ruby Tuesday's at Mizner Park, McGuire Hill 16, Waxy O'Connor's, McGuinness pub and many more. His current schedule is posted above.
Mr. Avery will provide more scintillating bio, song downloads, lyrics and cockamamie ideas soon, but his perfect daughters Julia (almost 6) and Grace (1.75) are climbing the walls and his beautiful wife Rosemary is giving him the hairy eyeball.
