Been into metal since 1985, played in a touring signed metal band from 1995 to 2007. I love everything from Rainbow to Hatebreed, of particular interest is the Bay Area Thrash scene of the mid 1980's. Testament, Exodus & Forbidden all rule. Ripping riffs, furious downpicking and killer drumming...THRASH IT UP!..Ahem, of course all styles of metal welcome at the Grindstone...
Once guitarist with UK metalcore underdogs Stampin' Ground, I now run GRINDSTONE STUDIO producing metal / hardcore and rock bands. After years of witnessing some killer UK talent lay waste in venues all over the country, it pained me to get their demos home only to hear them sound like shit. I know how it felt to be in a band with few options to get your songs recorded how you wanted them, and not be ripped off for the privaledge. So, in 2003, I applied what I learnt from a decade of recording with SG and set about doing it myself. Very soon I was getting better results than some well known people in the business.
The studio is used by a full range of clients, ranging from well known metal labels such as Earache, Candlelight, Roadrunner and Nuclear Blast, to smaller labels such as Transcend and In At The Deep End aswell as unsigned bands hoping to take that important next step.
