Music
I am still metal, even tough I do not throw the horns. Mainly it is because they are so played out. I mean c'mon if Justin Timberlake and Avril will use them why should I. Anyway on to the list of bands, be forewarned I do have an extensive love of music hence the reason I have rare import CD's of The Gathering but only 3 good pairs of pants.

I was a history so I read a bunch of stuff on post-WWII America, my specialty. Truman, Grand Expectations, the Fifties are ones that I would recomend. Musicwise Lords of Chaos and Our Band Could Be Your Life are two that every music fan should read. Fargo Rock City by Chuck Klosterman and everything by Sarah Vowell. I also have read a bunch of the wrestling bios, my favs are the Mick Foley ones and Ric Flairs. Bobby Heenan's are great as well.
Heroes
My Dad, Yelloejacket, Harry S. Truman, every veteran, Tom Araya, Russell Simmons, Brian Slagel, and a bunch of others that I don't feel like typing right now.
About me: Hello, I am Scott Whitt and I am a struggling writer trying to gravy train some of that MySpace exposure. No,not the kind that ends up on NBC with a 40 year old guy looking for a 13 year girl. I am currently writing for Envy Magazine, Houston Press, Space City Rock, Wrestling Observer and hopefully in the next couple of days a newspaper that I dare not mention because I would jinx it.
For some background, I am 38 and I have just recently received my degree in history from the University of Houston. Originally I went back to school wit the idea of getting my degree and then becoming teacher. However in my last year or so at school I saw an ad in the Daily Cougar looking for music writers. After many months of doing that and the realization that by writing i would not have to wake up at 6 in the morning to go to work, I chose a new career path. Plus I can still have sex with 18 year old girls and not get fired.
I write about MMA (Mixed Martial Arts) and music predominately. I am a big fan of UFC and recently went to UFC 69:Shootout here in Houston and had a blog of my experiences posted by the Houston Chronicle.
When it comes to music writing my specialty is metal and hard rock. I do realize that I am part of a dwindling field but it is what I like so there. Plus, I don't think I could construct an article on AFI, 30 Seconds, or Gwen Stefani without using sucks an inordinate amount of times.
Who I'd like to meet: I am not here to meet anyone, no hook ups for the kingfish. I am really concentrating on getting my career on track so that is where my focus is. I hope everyone would take a small amount of time to read my stuff and pass it on. To quote
David Lee Roth " If you like it tell a friend, if you hate tell an enemy."
