Scott has been a member of ARIA award-winning comedy act Tripod since 1994, within which he has been writing and playing music of all shapes and sizes. The Universe represents an opportunity for Scod to showcase the less joke-ridden aspects of his songwriting. Scod grew up listening to Nat King Cole, Simon and Garfunkel and They Might be Giants. So you do the math.
Mick Meagher (double bass, vocals)
As well as being a part of the Universe, Michael Meagher plays bass with the Black Arm Band, Impressions Trio ( Ted Vining, Bob Sedergreen), contemporary free jazz ensemble Blow, The Putbacks and K fa Cool.
Michael also works actively as a freelance musician.
Rory McDougall (drums)
Rory has played (with mick) on the Black Arm Band in the Melbourne Festival, City City City, Vada and the Pearly Shells. More when i get hold of Doogs' bio.
Eamon McNelis (trumpet)
He doesn't even have a Myspace bio i can cut and paste. Let me make one up: Eamon studied at VCA and plays in pretty much every band in Melbourne, including Vada (with Rory and the awesome Aaron Choulai - their recent show 'we don't dance for no reason' was magic), the Band Who Knew Too Much, and probably the Pearly Shells i imagine. And other stuff.
The recordings and photos on this page also feature:
Xani Kolac (violin, vocals)
Violin wunderkind Xani has studied under some extraordinary musicians, including Nigel MacLean, Giya Kanchelli, Alex Pertout, Mark Levine - to name but a few. She studied the the Impro course at the Victorian College of the Arts and has played with Martin Martini's Bone Palace Orchestra, My Friend the Chocolate Cake and her own bands the Twoks and the award-winning Yohosie
Simon Barfoot (guitar, mandolin, accordion, vocals)
Simon is a member of the amazing Blue Grassy Knoll which has taken him to all sorts of interesting places all over the world. Including London. Where he now is.
Influences
Nat King Cole Trio, The Jungle Book Soundtrack (first record i ever owned... SWINGS), Queen, Rickie Lee Jones (her first album Changed my Life), Rufus Wainwright, Ray Charles (helped me understand country music, oddly enough), Beach Boys, Simon and Garfunkel, Harry Belafonte (try Live at Carnegie Hall... if you can find it. Vinyl, not CD. The cd only has about half the show). Oh and the Beatles of course. And the theme song from Doctor Who. And Paul Kelly's last two records. OK I'll stop now.

Hi there, we're heading over to Melbourne town this Saturday 4th July for a show at Northcote Social Club with Skipping Girl Vinegar. Hope you can make it!
Salut from Hamburg, Amigo! I was listening your music, you have totally cool songs on your player! Wish you a wonderful rest of the sunday. Keep Rockin, Silva
Wow, the new songs sound amazing. I especially am loving Deal Another Hand; I'm of the opinion that adding sax to anything makes it that much better haha. I'm hoping that your next album will sound a lot more like this new stuff, it's great.
