Shooting - photos and guns. Cool technology, such as spintronics, quantum computing and quantum communication, carbon 64 nanotubules, high performance electronics, and powerful machines, such as super-charged and turbo-charged nitrous burning race engines, the giant bucketwheel excavator, and the Cray XT4 high performance computer (modern super computers). Amazing things, like copepods, lightning and bioluminescence. I have some interest in capturing beauty and interesting scenes - that's the main reason why I'm a photographer, but I also like the technical stuff in photography (the cool cameras, lights, and lenses). I also like to travel and see different places. The shooting is the most important part though. I like shooting beauty, particularly gorgeous, scantily-clad girls.
I don't like watching sports on TV much, but I like to snow ski, scuba dive (yes, I'm certified), skate, and fish. I also like bicycling, though I almost never do it. I used to wrestle, work-out, and run, but I don't get that much exercise these days. I guess I'm lazy.
Music
Various, but less jungle and more industrial. I liked Sir Mix-a-Lot's Funky Trans Am (sorry, but that's what I call it) and Big Butts, and I liked parts of Am I Black Enough by Schooly D when I heard it in King Of New York (starring Christopher Walken, Laurence Fishburn, David Caruso, and Wesley Snipes). There's some really cool stuff out there by Cypress Hill too. I typically don't like country music (though there are a couple of country songs I actually do like - Kid Rock's "Cowboy" is one - yeah yeah, I know it's not really country), but I think the best song of all time is an old one by The Eagles (a semi-country band) called "Hotel California" - but I rarely listen to it these days. I usually listen to sounds of The Prodigy, Rush, The Red Hot Chilli Peppers, Ministry, Moby, Crystal Method, Jason Zenobia (a freind of mine who makes cool music), and various industrial trance and dance. One of my favorite songs is an obscure song called "The City Sleeps" by MC 900 Foot Jesus. Sometimes I listen to Midnight Oil, Pink Floyd, and other such "different" bands. An old obscure album I like is called "Planet P Project" and it has some cool 80's songs on it like "Why Me" - another cool old song is "Don't Pay The Ferry Man" by Chris DeBurg, the guy who brought us the famous ballad "Lady In Red" in the mid 80's. I also like classic rock, like The Doors, Led Zeppelin, The Police, AC-DC, Ozzy, etc. I recently came across a song by Edwyn Collins - very cool. And have you ever heard Leonard Cohen? Listen to the first and last songs on the classic work of art known as "Natural Born Killers" - he has a unique sound, and he's a true poet (not just a songwriter and musician). I had a song by the Skatenigs on my profile here for a while, and I like hard-core stuff like Slip Knot and the Rollins Band. Did I mentiion RAM? (Rage Against The Machine!)
Movies
Many, but my favorite is Interstate 60. Other favorites are Regarding Henry, The Matrix, Aliens, The Terminator, The Unforgiven, Natural Born Killers, Tombstone, Memento, Hardware, The Color Of Night, The Replacement Killers, The Professional, Legend, The Lord Of The Rings, Blade Runner, Deep Cover, King Of New York, Blade, AI, Last of the Mohicans, Ground Hog's Day, Ultra Violet, The Blue Lagoon, and many more.
Television
Stargate SG1 and Atlantis, Discovery Channel, IFC, The Science Channel, National Geographic, lots of other stuff, but only in little bits.
Books
I don't really read books, so here are some names of some good picture books:
On Form - Andreas Bitesnich...
Silvereye - Guido Argentini...
Shekhina - Leonard Nimoy (yes, Spock)...
And here's a good series of books from my childhood: Martian Tales of Edgar Rice Burroughs (the guy who wrote Tarzan) If you like sci-fi like I do, you'll probably like that series. I can't believe they haven't made them into a TV show or movies.
Heroes
Ridley Scott - see Alien, Legend, Gladiator, and Blade Runner (his use of light is amazing).
Harrison Ford, but not so much lately - see Regarding Henry and Blade Runner.
Andreas Bitesnich - for creating amazing and beautiful images.
Mary Ellen Mark - for daring, talent, and achievement.
My sister - for making it this far against the odds.
My friends - for being who you are.
All of you out there in MySpace - for being here and being interested in something other than sex and drugs to read about me.
I have a Web site that I built for you (and myself). See it at: www.scottvision.com
Many of the photos you see here were made at one of the Ujena Jam events that I have attended. Click the image below if you'd like to attend an upcoming Ujena Jam yourself, either as a model, photographer, or just a member of the audience (yes, like golf tournaments, the Ujena Jam is a spectator sport event).
Yes, the photos in the slide-shows above are mine. I shot some of them recently in Spain, and the others are from shoots in Florida mostly.
If you're new to modeling, or if you'd like to become a model, go to one of my Web sites. It's called Help For Models. http://www.helpformodels.com
- If you want to know more about me visit www.scottvision.com for some details. You won't find my whole life story there though. For that you'll have to get to know me first.
Princeton study scares me - see how electronic votes can be stolen:
Who I'd like to meet: Miss Boca Raton - oh yeah, I already have met her.
Linda K. Hill - Miss Boca Raton 2008 (above) at our first shoot together.
Congratulations Linda!
Hmmm . . .
I really would like to meet just about everyone, but I just don't have the time. I wish I could have met Ansel Adams and some of the other great photographers who have died during my lifetime. I'd like to meet Neil Peart, one of my favorite drummers and lyricists. I wish I could have met Salvador Dali. I'd love to meet Mary Ellen Mark, Ridley Scott, Elle MacPherson, Cindy Crawford, and Milla Jojovich. I'd like to meet my future wife (if I haven't already), that is if I will ever get married.
I'd also like to meet people who travel a lot, because I like to travel, as you can see by the maps below.
Anyone want to go traveling? I'll be your photographer!
I've already met so many wonderful people in this world so far - and what variety! I've met bums, billionaires, actors, senators, painters and models. I guess I'll meet a few more people, and whoever it is (as long as they aren't total jerks) will probably be wonderful. I like most of the people I meet, and everyday people seem to be just great.
Hey, here's someone YOU might like to meet. He gives some advice that seems pretty good to me:
Scott Thank you so much for creating my website! It is working perfectly, and it gives me the perfect forum to highlight my work. I also appreciate you showing me how to create and update the galleries.
I very much enjoyed your company last week. Your friendship means the world to me. I look forward to seeing you again soon!
hahaha! yea, maybe some day. Mom tried to call you when we was in Miami but no luck. Maybe the next trip we can get together and talk about that shoot. :)
Hi Scott, Thanks for the tag on the photos, pretty good shots. Cave photography is pretty tough to do. We're still open for business, trying to show the beauty of this cave and protect it at the same time. Come back anytime. We offer a specialty photography tour if your interested. Its a 3 hour tour in the cave and you decide where you go and how long you spend there. anyway, details on our website or give us a call anytime. thanks again.
