Brian K.
Vaughn wrote Runaways for the first 42 issues. I just (as in about an hour ago) finished reading his last story arc. After he left the book, Joss Whedon wrote six issues, and about two months ago the book started back up with Terry Moore as the writer. I gotta pick up the Whedon volume and track down the first few Moore issues. I hear they're pretty good.

Funny anecdote:

I've purchased music off of iTunes maybe two or three times since I started my account. If you'll recall, you and I opened the account back in our second year at the Kubert School to download the Steve Martin song from Little Shop Of Horrors with a bottle cap you won a free song off of. Well, earlier today I was trying to log into the iTunes store and I couldn't remember my password so I had to answer the security question we set up which was: "What is Christopher Yezek's middle name?" First I chuckled, then I stared at my monitor like a moron because for the life of me I cannot remember the answer! After seriously considering calling you or Yezek to find out the answer I ended up having iTunes e-mail me a confirmation message and I changed the password altogether.

I thought that was kind of funny. If the security question was Yezek's middle name, I wonder what the hell the password was...

On a completely unrelated note, have you ever read Runaways? I began picking up the digests last week and am on volume 6 of 8 already. I'd recommend it as a rather mindless, but fun little read. The digests are only $8 each, which is totally worth it. Plus, the 5th volume contains some of the funniest Spiderman and Wolverine moments I've ever read, which are what made me think that you might enjoy it.

I say it's good. I never found the movie boring, but that's not to say that there aren't slower parts. It had a good pace though, so I'd recommend it. A lot of the interesting quality of the movie probably had to do with the actors. Elijah is great, as are the translator and his grandfather. I probably won't bother with the book though, since you say it's not so good.

I recall that you were reading Everything Is Illuminated or at least had it in your possession at one point. Was it any good? Have you seen the movie? If so, are they similar? Which did you prefer? I just saw the movie today and loved it. Also, I'm looking for a new book to read and thought I'd see what you thought of it.
