Sounds Like
Me, I guess. If any of my friends wanna chime in on this one, feel free.
I've been playing guitar since my momma bought me one when I was 16. After many years jamming in my bedroom or around campfires, I joined a couple bands when I was back in Virginia. Through these bands, Bearded Pigs of Borneo and HammerHead, I was able to really connect with some amazing players and songwriters and expand my chops as a musician. I also started playing a monthly-ish acoustic gig at The Grey Fox in Franklin that gave me a lot of confidence to get up in front of random people by myself and play my heart out.
After moving up here to New York City, I've spent some time writing, and I play a weekly open mic night at Common Ground here in the East Village where I get to do a short set, and lately close out to the night. It's been a real treat and has encouraged me to get out there and play some more around the city. I took over open mic from Joel when he and Ellen decided to up and leave the country, so I'm there almost every week.
My latest musical venture is The Bulletproof Lincolns. We're a five-piece kick-ass country rock band, and we play all over the LES.
My friend Jake James is helping me get my originals recorded so that I can share them with y'all, so look for more to appear on this page as time goes on.
