Early in life Scott established himself as a professional freelance keyboard musician, although he first played a Kent electric bass guitar professionally with Time, and later with Dewey Engel, trio, and with City Lights trio.
He composed & performed interpretations, improv., and renditions in Mankato, Minnesota.
As a prolific composer, he joined the MSU Concert Jazz Ensemble, obtaining supplemental work as a solo artist, while also performing gigs as a jazz drummer. He performed with duos, trios, and other ensembles.
Scott later travelled abroad teaching individual piano, guitar, performing piano in chamber & soirre presentation settings, & working in music sales, for Backlund's Music, and Metro Music of New Orleans (Marrero) and shortly later performed full time in the quartet Castle based out of Syracuse, N.Y.
Scott plays over 1600 popular song renditions and many originals.

"I most often play a full audio spectrum. Love Songs, Rhapsodies, Picturesque Symphonic Tone Poems, Original, Fantasies, Themes with Variations, Counterpoint, Medieval, Popular, Renaissance, Neoclassical, Jazz, Fusion, Folk Ballads, Country, Celtic, Film Soundtrack & other diversities comprise my basic musical genre."
"Some real chutzpah."
"Flowing victorian & romantic themes are intriguing."
Scott’s diverse piano style can be characterized as ambient progressive counterpoint presented as eclectic symphonic poetry.
Routine time signatures can be found shifting to polyrhthms and then back again.
Such nuance variations of rubato phrasing alongside unique chord progressions can really 'draw you in'.
One cannot simply assign a musical genre and walk away.
He believes it reaches
many types of musicians worldwide.

He performs an assortment of original popular song piano versions released over the past 5 decades. Scott performs an extensive repertoire of
songs.
Scott presently performs for both private and public engagements.
When on acoustic guitar, ukulele, hammered dulcimer, mandolin, and charango, he uses a unique syncopated finger-picking, various-tuned, subdued folk oriented style.
Subtle overtones in his voice can be tapered to supplement his acoustic guitar as well as his piano playing.
Scott also performs the entire bass section in the trioCity Lights
while also doing keys & vocals. Daryle Cole and Dell Solberg are the other members of this variety trio.
City Lights performs consistently for twin cities vicinity events, weddings & receptions.

While being conversive by nature rather than choice, these tunes are frequently displayed as symphonic poetry. Questions are sometimes satisfied out of sequence. Bold answers are often given. You'll hear ironic signature passages as tunes develop. Each song has it's own honest touch.

Extracted commentary text and spoken word remarks regarding Remember When song selections :
Limelight: "Scott resembles pianist Leif Ove Andsnes' style all over again . . . excerpts seem Edvard Griegish."
" Stop the clock. Remember tomorrow ? "
Limelight: "Somber at first, this song ascends to brighter mood levels. Beneath fluorescent light, clarity points to chilling reality. The phrases expand. The passages bring a unique flair. Transfixing. Horwath's Limelight mirrors the 30's and 40's American Pianist/Composer Oscar Levant. Awareness revival. "
" We went out for some kind of boost to get over some bad times. Remember When worked." - annonymous.
" Scott is a very prolific performer; always coming up with something different "
Berceuse: Really removed from context." "Galloping syncopation. Here, pianist Jim Brickman also comes to my mind. This music has a remarkably sound infrastructure." - John Theringer. (This selection played for Trans Global & Malaysia Airlines)
Berceuse: " Scott, I am now thoroughly enjoying your Berceuse; it's transcending me. Vivid textural layering."
Berceuse: "True Advertising. Mesmerizing "
Building Blocks: "Pure juice extracted. Touches on unique forms of insight often culminating within shattered mood swing individuals. I was so taken by surprise to hear a fresh celtic-sounding movement following a jazzier intro. These chops remind me of other technical performance wizards such as the contemporary Jeffrey Siegel, notorious U.S. 1940's organist Ethel Smith on Tiko Tiko, and at moments, even the former Franz Liszt."
Laughing Eyes: "Spunky technical ideas. World Caliber in the field of eclectic."
Stepping Stones: "Rejuvenating. Grandiose. Humble to robust. It jumped my dead battery right pronto."
"Uplifting. Hypnotic rubato phrasing. We should savor every fleeting moment before it dissolves. I found a real catalyst here."
"Old World, in this wacky urban wilderness we are thrust into today" - "Refreshing."
Gabrielle, "There's a dazzling display of counterpoint with the contrabass going on here. And even more when you
see the guy play live."
"Remember When reactivated me once again."
"Calms and captivates. Down-to-earth with that mocha."
"A well-targeted remedy. Headphones prior to sleep. Allows for p.m. downshifting."
Regarding Remember When : A pair of the very finest recording session microphones were implemented. (Neumann & Telefunken)
A well-maintained open seven-foot grand piano was used ~
