Scotti Montgomeri is a composer from the Chicago area. He's 41 years old and is divorced with two grown children.
Scotti has always said he married the first time for money and the second time for love.
It was this divorce a few years ago from the woman he loves with all his heart, even today, which inspired him to write Santa's Whispers. After that final court date on December 23rd, Scotti took a plane to Jamaica and spent that Christmas alone on the beach. It was there that this song began to take shape and it was this song that has helped him with beginning to mend his broken heart.
Scotti originally wrote this song for himself, to get through those hard Christmases without the love of his life. However, Scotti has made changes to this song over the last few years, so it could appeal to a wider audience. He firmly believes that the holidays are the most painful time of the year, when a loved one is away and hopes that Santa's Whispers can generate the greatest healer in the toolbox for others: Hope. As long as there is hope, there is possibility. As long as there is possibility, there is hope.
Scotti encourages each and every listener to close their eyes as they listen to this song, whisper a wish to Santa and open up their heart to hope. Hope for the safe return of a loved one. Hope for the soul of a lost one. Hope for the ultimate payoff on this four minute investment of your time. Reunion.
Scotti originally released both his version and a version with a female vocalist. Scotti had several comments and suggestions from you and took those all into consideration. After consulting with several other musicians and the staff at the recording studio, Scotti went back under the mic in August, 2008. A revamped version of Santa's Whispers is under production. The changes are helping redouble the message of the song.
Scotti is also considering ideas for a video. His original concept was pitched to friends and readers, but did not accurately capture the message. Scotti encourages you to forward your idea for a video, or produce a video of your own for consideration as the official video of this song. As Santa's Whispers means different things to different people, he encourages knowing what this song may mean to you.
When the final version is complete, we'll include ordering information for the audio CD. At the time of this entry, we anticipate the cost should be $3.50, which includes postage and handling. Scotti is adamant about making sure that a portion of the profits from the sale of the CD and Video will be distributed to his favorite charities, the Salvation Army, the Make-A-Wish Foundation and the March of Dimes. We're hoping the video version will be available before Christmas, 2007. Stay tuned to this site for further details!
Scotti also extends his greatest thanks and heartfelt gratitude to Apocalypse Cow recording studios in Montgomery, IL, for their fantastic crews ability to take the voice of a heavy smoking rocker of 20 years ago and make it palatable enough to present to your ears. Theresa, Jeff & Dan, you're the best!
