I was born in Berwyn, Illinois, just west of Chicago. After watching my uncle's wedding band at the age of 8, I found my calling as a drummer. My mother says that, "even at just a few months I noticed that Scott liked to bang on things, wooden spoons on bowls..." I then spent my grammar school years starting bands with friends and studying with John Milan Buno.
In high school near Chicago my love of jazz and world music began to grow and I began to study with Paul Wertico of the Pat Metheny Group and a great session drummer, Ric Vitek.
Next I decided to take my musical education one step further and headed to the University of Miami's school of music and their Studio Music and Jazz program. Upon graduation I moved to New York City and began to play with acts in the local clubs of Manhattan.
I now get the chance to play with lots of bands of various type, many listed here in my top friends. I also work hard on my production chops and am busy programming grooves and recording in my home studio.
Some of the wonderful musicians and folks I have had the honor to play with include Chris Mann, Raul Midon, Steve Albini, Alexa Ray Joel, Shep and Kenny, Frank Fillipetti, Anthony Krizan, Nona Hendryx, Ronnie Drayton, LaLa Brooks, Pheobe Legere, Paul Ruderman, Rain Pryor, J-Henry, Ben Stivers, Pillow Thoery, Tim Lafebvre, Ivan Bodley, Freddy Wexler, Gordon Grody, Demian Sims, Die Laughing, Jimmy Riot, Kim Loren, Jane LeCroy, Matt Chertkoff, Into Red Giant and other fabulous musicians.
Not much just chilling and hanging out with friends, I graduated last month! :D Of course it really really hot and dry here! idk the last time that it rained, it almost did yesterday but mother nature was being a tease! lol
Hey Scott, I'm glad to see you are doing swell. I wish you the best of luck with any new project you get yourself in to. I'll miss the group however all great things must end eh?
Yeah Meeting Seth was a great thing I really enjoy chatting with him. I did a voice over for Family Guy as well. It's weird I thank MTV I won a contest to met him.
I hope you keep in touch. I look forward to any new projects you are working on. take care Scott.
...the trick my young grasshopper is to give the illusion that you are giving up something in order to appease the powers that be...or just make a small sacrifice...example: throw one of your golf balls into the Hudson and all order will be restored... :-)
Although I am deeply saddened by your guitar accident...it does make for one very funny story. Maybe this means you should give up golfing to appease your injured guitar...or better yet buy a new one and forget about the other one...this same principle applies to people too. HA! ;-) LOL
Hey Scott! No myspace troubles....just wanted an easier URL and I needed to get access to this way freaking old page I had....long long story. Anyways, hope you are well and let me know when you're out and about and we will begin the "Laura & Scott trying to meeting up" scavenger hunt again :) Be well!
