"The trouble with music appreciation in general is that people are taught to have too much respect for music; they should be taught to love it instead." -Igor Stravinsky
Scott Joplin, you are one of my favorite American composers and I have played many of your pieces. Also, I have written a rag called Maple Sugar, in tribute to your Maple Leaf. Thanks for being such a great inspiration!
Thanks for the add and mostly for the great ragtime. My favorite rags are Elite Syncopations and Heliotrope Bouquet. I'd love to hear them played by the composer.
you hear it? listen! Nostrils blown wide, barefeet outreach'd on the floor, and you may, even smell it! Its the cadence formation, permeat'n, of the quiet place in you, reveal'n a destIny, be true! It's resonat'n, like atmospheric brick break'n, detonation! It can't be stopp'd, not by any, even if forgot. Indisputable, THIS, greatness in You. To some quite difficult, to truly imagine, or describe like colors over canvas mystified, or in words, testifi'd, how wonderful friends like YOU, are! So if I may. or if might, a tuson's sunrise of your time, I'll give'it a try! This magical, boot fling'n, deep in earth, rocky mount'n crackl'n, bedtime story being verbaliz'd here after! Yeah, that kind! Like donald duck grov'n up, as the ratpac stears him uP, with Olive' ole, big band swing'n, with new wooden shoes, produc'n a 22nd sintri syGmRphOoOnVy! As the strings of BB king, through silk toes, of Janet Jackson, stepp'n! This sound from within you, is hoped to forever be, if you please...your friend, Robert Foster
Dear Mr. Joplin, Ijust wanted to drop by to say hello and to thank you for joining me here on this new-fangled contraption. At presemt, however, I must currently go and attend to that confounded Victrola which is skipping again for I have quite worn out Paul Whiteman's ,"Whispering. " Sincerely, Clayton Willoughby
