Scott Newman's music has one lead foot in yesterday, and another in today. It's true to the roots of rock and pushes the envelope at the same time. We'll be coming to a stage near you in Spring of 2007 so stay tuned!
Scott Newman began writing his own music at age fourteen, and has been a member of several bands in northern Indiana. Most notably were his years in Cruz Control, a band known for their original material with a classic sound. A Detroit native, Scott now teaches music in northerni Indiana where he lives with his wife and two children.
Randall Trumbull, Jr. has been Scott's primary musical collaborator for over 15 years.. His musical lineage can be traced back to his relatives that built fine guitars in the Gibson factory in Michigan. He brings his diverse musical background to bass and vocals in Battle Alley, as well as a mad scientist streak in the recording studio. He lives in Anderson and is well-kept by a Hot Nurse.
Derek Felix (a.k.a. "Dog") met Scott many years ago and jammed with him at a house party. Ever since Scott has wanted to work with this dynamic drumer. Derek has played with many area bands including Mike Milligan and Steam Shovel. When he's not putting holes in drum heads, Derek is running Chops Percussion, a fast-growing percussion musical specialty store in Indianapolis.
Chris Rosebrock grew up on the blues and brings his blistering guitar leads to Battle Alley, after many years of musical brotherhood with the other members of then band. Chris is a master of the Stratocaster, and if you spilt him open, you'd find a bunch of 12AX7 tubes next to a heart running on blues power. Chris is a trucker, which the rest of the members of the band are jealous of because he probably has more free time to listent to music than the rest of us!

I'll be honest.....when i got this friend request, I just added it because I went to high school with Dog. But just now I sat down and listened to the songs on here. You guys have got a really great sound....I'm really digging the music.....
Man - I'm almost afraid to ask what you are all looking at in that picture?! I must add, you're all HOT! ;)
COME TO INDY!!!!! (on a weekend when I can hear you play!)
Fair warning...I won't give up my top spot easily! :) Nor will I give up my front row spot when you guys perform. Yeah, I'm the crazy girl up front...don't you judge me!
The proper terminology is "ADS" and can often occur when large amounts of whiskey have been consumed prior to attempts at fornication ... and who said I've never contributed to the medical community?
Ahh, so you were there at BotB Randall! My roommate Michele and I were also not of age, but managed to get some beers and almost died in the horrible rainy weather on the way home to Muncie. But man was it worth it! Don't 18 and up bars in Ohio with great bands like Cruz playing rock??!!
1) I second the Puba motion. So be it, i'll be waiting for your end of the bargain.
2) Sarah ... You brought back some crazy wild memories. As I recall, that night in Oxford was 50 cent draft night, and I wasn't 21 ... but I was wearing a "in the band" stamp that got me all the cups I could handle. Yea!
3) Somebody please send me a picture of Nickel wearing Sequins and GoGo Boots that I can post ... just because.
Wow! Top friend just for subscribing? I'm honored, and looking forward to a gig soon... it will bring back lovely memories of seeing Cruz in the Battle of the Bands in Oxford OH back at BSU! Keep on rocking...its sounding great!
Now I'm torn. I'd be happy to subscribe to the blog, but I don't care to appear as one who can be bribed. Tell you what, I'll subscribe, and you don't move me up. Then we'll all be happy.
