Scott's influences on the instrument range from Brian May, Jeff Beck, Alex Lifeson, Tim Pierce and David Grissom and beyond. Influential artists range from James Brown to Seal, from Queen to Nine Inch Nails. From country to rock to funk, the love of music has always been the driving force.

Scott has been playing guitar since 1980, and in working bands since 1983. With the number of bands and experiences over the years, Scott has honed his playing in rock/pop/funk and country genres. In college at the University of Michigan Scott studied under accomplished master classical guitarist Michael Bryce.
Some musical highlights include releasing the all original rock/pop music on "Under" in 1998 with the Marilyn Mack Group (Scott co-wrote and co-produced the CD too); releasing "Rainshine" in 2001 - an all instrumental rock/funk guitar CD that was completely written, recorded, mixed and mastered by Scott.
Currently playing every week at Living Water Community Church; with Laura Wilkie (New Country/Pop), 442 Band (Rock) and Cross County Line (New Country/Rock). Also hitting recently with Alyssa Simmons (soul/pop/rock), TJ Kelly Band (New Country/Pop, and Urbana Piqua (Blues/Jazz/Rock).
He has made his mark in the regional scene by playing with bands at such locales as 5th Ave. (Downtown Detroit), Harper's, Dino's, 5th Ave. Billiards (Novi), JWs Sports Bar, Memphis Smoke, The Token, Lower Town Grille, Rochester Beer Company, Moose McGregor's, The Boathouse, Scalicis, and festivals like the Ann Arbor Art Fair, Woodhaven Family Days, Trenton Street Fair and Pontiac's Arts, Beats & Eats.
