Sounds Like
Motown,Stax Volt artists, Otis,Wilson,Black Crowes, Doobie Brothers,60s and 70s radio,Sly Stone,Southside Johnny,Classic rock and blues rock....whatever else is passing through at any given time
Vocally people say I sound like Michael Bolton or other blue eyed soul singers when I sing soul music..Sammy Hagar, Chris Cornell(Audioslave) when I do heavy rock..I love it all!I always try to sing with passion and emotion whatever kind of music I'm doing. Like I said I let the song itself dictate how I will sound.I guess I'm mostly from the old school of music. I grew up in the 60s and 70s when there was soooo... many great songs and artists on the airwaves and in the record bins(remember them?)I've been listening to and writing in those styles for years now .. it's just who I am musically I suppose. You can't be exposed to all that great stuff your whole life and not be deeply influenced by it.The new CD is called "My Kind Of Soul"and will be available in early 2009 God willing. It's a collection of original and covers songs of some of soul and R&B musics greatest hits.Stay tuned for more.
