Following the buzz created by his radio and Internet smash cover of Rhianna's "Umbrella,” Scott Simons is preparing to release his solo debut on Rostrum Records this Summer.
On the radio, his simple emotive interpretation of "Umbrella" was added on Q101 in Chicago, LIVE 105 in San Francisco, 94.9 The Sound in Cincinnati and WROX in Norfolk and was spun on many other stations - big and small - all over the United States. Overseas, Scott's "Umbrella" was in rotation on 2fm in Ireland and several stations in Germany.
Scott's surprise breakout single received praise on countless Internet pop culture sites such as TMZ.com and Pink Is The New Blog, and garnered Scott several hundred thousand plays on MySpace and other music listening sites. Scott's broad-based appeal was also evidenced by the hundreds of fans all over the world who uploaded user-created "fan videos" to YouTube featuring Scott's music. "Umbrella" is currently available on iTunes, as is his first internet-only single, "Ruin."
Due to this viral media attention, Simons' debut "The Start of Something EP" has been highly anticipated. Produced by himself and Ted Comerford and mixed by Micah Wilshire, the EP will feature all new original material highlighting Simons' unique sound of synth and piano-driven melodic pop.
Since last summer's success, Scott has been performing his new material live around the country and has recently shared the stage with One Republic and Keane. Just this year, Scott was signed by major independent publisher Bug Music/Windswept, which also represents such artists as Wilco, Ryan Adams, and many more. As a songwriter, Scott is managed by Sandy Roberton at World's End Management in Los Angeles and has been working with and writing for artists on Mercury, Island Def/Jam, Atlantic, Hollywood, Epitaph Records and more.

I just had my baby girl and I did your song on my profile to my slide show of the hospital and ultrasound. Can you tell me what you think? It makes me cry everytime I listen like a hundred times a day. Angie
