Interests

  • General

You can see more of my photography at http://scottstolsenberg.zenfolio.com/ ***************************************************************** Photography, Science, Nature, Hiking, Travel (when I can afford the fuel) Reading, Writing and Wine. Photography is the most important thing in my life right now. When I have free time, I'm either taking photos or editing photos. Most of my paid work is for a local newspaper. I love capturing the natural world for everyone to see.. I also want to start traveling more. There is so much to see out there, and so little time. (grins)
  • Movies

Lord of the Rings, The Fountain, Fight Club, 12 Monkeys, Blue Max, Blade, Harry Potter, Pan's Labyrinth, House of Flying Daggers, Open Season, Mirror Mask, The Golden Compass, Stardust, The Hunt For Red October, 300, Pan's Labyrinth, Chocolat. ( I was really surprised by Chocolat. It quickly became one of my favorite films.
  • Heroes

My heroes are the people who quietly change the world around them. My father is a hero for teaching me responsibility, rule of law and that taking care of others comes before ourselves. My mother is a hero for managing to give me spirituality and compassion in a world where such traits are hard to find. My brother and sister are both in law enforcement. They do a job I would never want. They do it selflessly and for too little pay. And my whole family has loved me unconditionally, even when I made mistakes. Then there are the countless people out there who give of themselves or their resources to help others. Heroes do what they feel is right, for the right reasons, no matter how many times the world tells them they are crazy or wrong. They do it without ever realizing they are a hero to someone. We all have a chance to be a hero. Being a good parent, lending a helping hand to a friend in need, or helping a stranger you may never know. Each day offers us chances to recognize the heroes around us and perhaps become one ourselves. To somebody else, you may be a hero for doing something you took for granted as polite or simply the right thing to do. In a world where we see hostility and violence broadcast to us every day, its important to remember, that each one of us has can bring kindness, compassion and faith to those around us. Look around at the heroes we take for granted every day, and don't miss the chance to thank on or to be one. One good deed at a time, we can make the world better. *************************

About me:

************ Ok, it is time for an update ************

I used to wear two hats. One was a Full-Time Factory worker
at YUSA Corporation. And the second one was a Part-Time
Photographer doing work for the local newspaper and anyone
else who fit into my schedule and skill set. But the factory job
is gone. And the job I used to do is going back to Japan.
So its time to take a deep breathe and see what is coming next.

I am currently looking for a new job. It is my hope that I will
find work eventually that utilizes my creative skills. (Especially
my photography and writing)

So right now I am a photographer looking for the next great
chapter of my story.

I have enjoyed photography most of my life. And most of the
time, I was focused on nature and wildlife. I worked with a local
photo studio for two years and gained a lot of knowledge of
studio photography and Photoshop. I have also been working
with the local newspaper, The Record-Herald since March of
2002. Work for them included feature photos for the covers and
stories in their Spectrum magazine and the TRIP Ohio Travel
Magazine. Many of my nature and local interest shots have also
been seen in the paper.

So what type of photography am I doing right now?

I am shooting events for the travel guide, group photos for various
organizations, fine art nature photography, photos for musicians,
and other projects that are in the works. I sometimes shoot Senior
Photos and on very rare occasions a wedding.

I am often asked about a price list and I hope to have a complete
price list very soon. I will post an update as I complete the work.

On the slideshows here and in my photo galleries, you can see
examples of my work. If you are interested, please send me an
email. It is sometimes difficult to track me down by phone because
I am often traveling. I check emails daily if not several times a day.

Thank you for stopping by

If you like the work you see here, please check out my online gallery at:

.. .. *************************************************************************** If I have free time, I will be outdoors shooting nature photos. Hope You enjoy the visit..!! .. The photos above are from my favorite place to vacation. These photos were taken at Bear Run Inn and Cabins and Bears Den Cottage and Lodge. The photos are from both properties. Although Bear Run Inn and Cabins is owned by different people than Bear's Den, they are related and their properties are connected. Please check out both places if you are thinking of staying near Hocking Hills or Logan Ohio. If you have questions about either, ask me. In the mean time, here is where you can contact them. http://www.bearrun.com/ http://bearsdencottages.com/ *************************************************************************** Below, You can see some of the photos I have for sale on my online gallery. I shoot a lot of nature photography and love plants and insects. but you will find a bit of everything in my galleries. I hope you enjoy the photos. .. *************************************************************************** .. The photos above are from the Fayette County Fair 4-H Horsemanship Competition. I spent the day taking photos and getting sun-burnt. *************************************************************************** ..

Who I'd like to meet:

I enjoy meeting artists of all types. I have a love of photography, science, nature, writing, music and the Arts in general. So I love to meet people with similar interests. But to be honest, its just great to meet new people.

it amazes me the appeal KISS has to the young and old.... I went to a concert years ago and had so much fun just watching the people... there was a 70 year old man in a wheel chair with a 9-10 year old boy dressed up as gene simmons boots and all :) they were enjoying themselves soo much.
It brought tears to my eyes as I painted his face, he had as much trouble holding still and not checking it out in the mirror every 5 seconds just like his brother did all those years ago :)

Thanks! I liked the one of you on your profile. I thought it was a giant butterfly until I clicked on it and realized it was some huge freaky alien thing. Then it scared me.

His Books of Blood was pretty intense too....Nice to see the similarities with the movies, music and photography! Pan's Labryinth was amazing....as was the soundtrack for it. Well done with the photography! You're work is beautiful.....Drop me a line sometime....Sharon
