This '07 cramming is making me jones for something black and white and VERY old. Tonight: "Smiley Face" and if I have time, "Sunshine."

I need to get back in touch with my VCR tapes and TCM....

I'm going to second your comment re: Facebook, although my problem is that not enough people I know use it and trying to get some of them to get on Myspace was a hassle.

I think the stigma of them being 'stuff for kids' scares a lot of people off.

That season is gone forever. There's something kind of comforting about these 0-4 Saints. It feels normal, almost like pre-K.

How bout them Tigahs??

Wow, the first minutes of "Apocalypse Now." Still genius. I think that movie had such an impact on a fourteen-year-old me, that I thought *all* cinema had that kind of power and creativity. Ummmm ....

If Sheik comes out with a remake of "Seizure" with Verne Troyer, it's time to panic.

Oh, and speaking of panic, I watched "Tideland" last night on DVD. I don't know if you saw, but Gilliam made an introduction to the film in which he says, "A lot of you are going to hate it but a lot of you are going to love it." That's correct, except the second "a lot" should read "one or two." What a train wreck (literally!).

I'm not really a Bears fan, as I grew up in Packer country.

However, I can honestly say I'm enjoying the Bears success if for no other reason than it means the 1985 SB team will finally stop being relevant, and Ditka (DA COACH) can go away altogether. I also used to live in Indy, so I'm quietly pulling for Peyton & Co.

Sorry bout yr Saints. Again, a dream season, but with much hope for the near future.

Ha ha, but - for the record - I am actually an Oakland Raiders fan, and they were done the second game into the season. ;-)

I'm usually happy when the Eagles lose (sometimes - I like it when they beat the Giants and Cowboys) - that way the local media can calm the hell down.

Perfume as a book was one of the best things I have ever read, and I kept thinking that it would probably be impossible to make this into a film. However, I saw the trailer on-line and it looks like Tykwer did a pretty good job adapting it. I have faith.

...Like I said, the book, Tideland, is one of the worst pieces of crap I have ever read (and I have read Anne Rice!), so if anyone can liven that thing up, Gilliam should be the man to do it.
And my favorit Gilliam pics:
1)Brazil
2)Monty Python and the Holy Grail
3)Time Bandits
4)The Adventures of Baron Munchausen
5)Twelve Monkeys
6)The Fisher King
7)Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas
8)Jabberwocky
9)The Brothers Grimm
