Years immersed in reggae music (predominantly from the island of Jamaica) Equanimity has been touched by every note he has ever heard. Recognising that there is not one note or word sung that has not played a role in forming the songs he sings today Equanimity gives thanks and praise for not only the voices and melodies that have shaped his unikely Australian reggae vocals, but also all musicians that sing much like the birds and frogs within nature.
Born in Sydney Australia Equanimity (aka Scott Plant) is now living in the hills of the Northern NSW rainbow region celebrating creation, life and love. It is here that he is currently building a number of riddims using loops, live instrumentation and midi that he is also voicing utilising a wealth of new catchy and rootsy lyrics and melodies gifted from Jah.
Having been somewhat inactive over the last year musically, as he explored the divine nature within that runs through all, it is the silent voice of Jah that now calls out through Equanimity and has led him back to sing of culture and love. Recognising that he does not own the songs he sings every breath and every note is offered as a blessing of peace calling out to the silent voice within us all.

In this work I've attempted to explore sonic-scapes and habitats, using mental imagery and emotions to express places that can only be imagined. Trudging through dark valleys, windswept hillsides and gaping horizons. Past forgotten civilizations in the deep green,. Then to rest in a place of quiet solitude.
