Bio
I started on my musical journey at age 13 when I picked up my brothers cast off acoustic guitar and started plinking out the intro to “SATISFACTION” by the Rolling Stones. It wasn’t long before “GLORIA” came pounding out of that old Harmony guitar. By high school, after hearing the Strawberry Alarm Clock play a High School dance, I had to have an electric guitar. .... Before long, my first band was formed. The highlight of “The Glass Waterfall” (hey, it was the sixties!!!)was playing"SHES'S NOT THERE" at an amusement park in Dania, Florida called Pirates World. My musical career was interrupted in 1968 when the war in Viet Nam sent me off to the military. Stationed in Charleston SC, I discovered John lee Hooker and Lightnin Hopkins.I was consumed by the Blues. “Hooker n’ Heat” played day and night until it wouldn’t play anymore. During this period of time, it was back to banging on an old, beat-up acoustic given to me by a friend. .... After leaving the service in 1972, my new bride and I moved aboard an old sailboat my father had given me, and began a long, long trip to “Margaritaville”. It wasn’t until the nineties that I once again began persuing my musical dreams. By this time, I was emulating the vocal stylings of Howlin' Wolf and Tom Waits and started singing and playing in several local Blues bands in the Denver, Co. area. Sydney Warner of THE BLUES ZONE gave me my monniker at 4 AM one morning, when, after sitting around waiting to get paid, Sydney declared “ what’s your big hurry?, I think you’re just doin this for the money, I think I’ll start calling you Scotty Cash” and the rest as they say, is history. .... Wanting to do my own material, I left Old Sydney and formed the band which became known as TOBACCO ROAD. With the help of LA Music Award nominee Michael Reese on guitar, bassist Terry Worsham, and outstanding drummer Bob Parker, we became one of the most popular Blues bands in the Denver area. Now back to my roots in Florida, I play a style I call "Swamp Stomp", a countrified version of the blues which centers around life in the cypress swamp and the inhabitants that reside there. .... In May of 2008, I will be embarking on my "Bucket Tour", traveling throughout the U.S. playing in the small town roadhouses that have become my second home. If you live in a small town and like swamp music please e-mail me and I will try to come and give you a live sampling of "Swamp Stomp" P.S. I stay away from big cities.> ...... .... .. .. .. .. .. .. .. .. .......... .......... .. .. .. ...... .. .. .. .. .. .. .. .. .. -
