I'm a golfing fiend. I am a very high-average bowler. That, and a jar of quarters, will buy me a beer. I love to watch my son swing a golf club. I love to hear my daughter fake a British accent and call me "Daw-dee".
Your Famous Last Words Will Be:
"What we know is not much. What we don't know is enormous."
I like indie alt-rock and Americana music. Some of my favorites are Blue October, Collective Soul, Hayes Carll, Reckless Kelly, Train, and Pete Yorn... to name a few.
You Are Emerald Green
Deep and mysterious, it often seems like no one truly gets you.
Inside, you are very emotional and moody - though you don't let it show.
People usually have a strong reaction to you... profound love or deep hate.
But you can even get those who hate you to come around. There's something naturally harmonious about you.
"Paint Your Wagon", "The Pianist", "Forrest Gump", "Lock, Stock, and Two Smoking Barrels", "Snatch", "The Illusionist", "Confessions of a Dangerous Mind", "Walk The Line", "The Shipping News", "In America" (because it made me cry and stuff), "Garage Days", "Sling Blade", "Saving Private Ryan", "Thirteen Days", Wajda's "Czlowiek Z Zelaza" ("Man of Iron"), "Sami Swoi" (don't precisely know the translation), and "Die Falscher" ("The Counterfeiters").
John Feinstein's "A Civil War", "A Good Walk Spoiled", and "Q School: The Fifth Major",
Norman Davies' "Rising '44",
John McCain's "Faith of Our Fathers"
Any biography of Winston Churchill gets my attention.
Heroes
My Dad... who didn't do anything but work his buttocks off every day, spend free time with me, and make his world revolve around my well being just to make my spoiled life better than it should have been. If I can be half of him, I'm awesome.
You Have a Melancholic Temperament
Introspective and reflective, you think about everything and anything. You are a soft-hearted daydreamer. You long for your ideal life. You love silence and solitude. Everyday life is usually too chaotic for you.
Given enough time alone, it's easy for you to find inner peace. You tend to be spiritual, having found your own meaning of life. Wise and patient, you can help people through difficult times.
At your worst, you brood and sulk. Your negative thoughts can trap you. You are reserved and withdrawn. This makes it hard to connect to others. You tend to over think small things, making decisions difficult.
About me: I'm a thinker. That doesn't mean I sit with my fist on my chin in some dorky pose. I mean, I actually DO that, but only in private.
I'm a Dad. Full time, I am.
I've grown a thick skin. I have internal scars from a life that has been lived. I've made mistakes. I sometimes don't quit when I know I should. Sometimes that's good. Sometimes not.
I do the best I can and am learning to be process-oriented... not results-oriented. If you DO the right thing, then hopefully the right result will occur. But you can't control results. One can only control oneself.
You Are A Maple Tree
There's not anyone in this world quite like you.
You are full of imagination, ambition, and originality.
Shy but confident, you hunger for new experiences.
You have a good memory and learn easily.
You are sometimes nervous and always complex (especially in love).
Who I'd like to meet: Winston Churchill... then... not now. Now it would kinda be a mute point. And he'd look REALLY bad.
Lech Walesa. Solidarnosc... it changed the world, kids.
I'd like to meet myself from 12 years ago... heck, I'd like to meet myself from 22 years ago... there's some strong advice I could give that kid.
Oh, and I'd like to teach the world to sing in perfect harmony and I'd like to buy the world a Coke to keep it company. Yeah. That's the song I sing. 'Cause I'm a 'tard. Mom says I'm special. Gotta run. Short bus is here!
You Are an Espresso
At your best, you are: straight shooting, ambitious, and energetic
At your worst, you are: anxious and high strung
You drink coffee when: anytime you're not sleeping
I've got my iPod on shuffle right now, and I just heard "Thunderstruck." For some reason, this song always makes me think of an ugly guy in Rustlers spinning around a pole...
Hey. Just thought and say "hi" and ask "what's up?". I'm doing a little better with things. Some days are harder than the really hard days, but c'est ma vie.
