Books
Charles Busch is my favorite writer at the present. Autobiography of a Sex Kitten by Eartha Kitt, Anything by Clive Barker, Seize the Time/A Lonely Rage by Bobby Seale, All things Anne Rice, Anything by Mumia Abu Jamal or Abbie Hoffman, The Fifth Sacred Thing by Starhawk and Illusions by Richard Bach are among my favorites. I have a passion for the history of the civil rights movement and spend a lot of time reading anything written during or about that time. Dr Seuss' The Lorax, The Butter Battle Book, The Sneetches, Oh, the Places You'll Go, Horton Hears a Who and Thidwick the Big-Hearted Moose should be in everone's library! I also read a ridiculous amount of books on religion, metaphysics and spirituality.
Heroes
I don't do the hero trip, but Eartha Kitt is my favorite Diva. Grrrrrr! Boy George is my muse/mentor of sorts...And Brian Grillo is my inspiration!
I love all things artistic! "Don't dream it...Be it!"
Who I'd like to meet: I would love to connect with other folks who are into art, music, theatre, pushing the proverbial envelope and exploring all of life's infinite possibilities.
Never Apologize For Your Art!'s Friend Space (Top 22)
Hopefully if you didn’t attend the Candle Light Vigil on Monday night, you at least knew about it. It was held to mourn the loss of Equal Rights. It was an incredible experience and I'm very proud to have been a part of it. However it's not over! Saturday morning at 11:30 AM we WILL be meeting at the Phoenix City Hall (200 W. Washington St.) to protest Proposition 102 and make our numbers known. The more people who attend, the more our local government will see that we are here, we are concerned, and no longer will we allow society to define us as second-class citizens. No longer will we allow discrimination to take place. No longer will we stand divided and watch as our rights are taken from us. This WILL be an important movement in the history of our community. And I urge you to be a part of it--gay, straight, transgendered, bisexual, or otherwise. Your voice DOES matter, and so does your presence Saturday morning. Please bring five people to this rally.
As for myself, I've been placed in charge of making signs for the gathering. My own personal goal is 100 although we're expecting hundreds more. I will need help paying for and assembling them. My only day off is Wednesday, and I plan to do it then. Perhaps we could gather in a park and do it. The thing is...
I NEED YOUR HELP!!
I NEED MONEY to buy supplies and I need people to dedicate a few hours to make a difference. This is a chance for art to have an impact!! I know it's short notice and I know that we live in a financially unstable time, but there's absolutely NO way I can afford to pay for these signs on my own, nor can I assemble them. In all honesty I need to raise $200 by Wednesday. Can it be done? I believe so!! If the Mormon church can raise over 6 million dollars and use it to take rights away from fellow Americans, I can raise two-hundred to put together a few signs.
I hope to hear from you soon. Please call me at 623 451 2431.
Its chaand here, all grown up! I miss you, how are you? I hope things are well. I just moved back to Hong Kong a month ago because of the crappy economy, it was terrible in Denver, they were laying off most people at the hotel i worked for. I graduated in May which was exciting and am now trying to build a life for myself here. Would love it if you came to visit one day!
No shit girl! I meant every word I said. I didn't just gain a sister when I met you, I found an amazing part of my life that had been missing for years. I love you, dearest one, from the bottom of my heart, in that place usually reserved for cockatoos and golden retrievers....
