“If Sky’s the limit, then I’m Scraping the Sky.” Born William Richardson, Skyscraper or Scrape as his friends affectionately call him fell in love with music at the tender age of eight. Born and reared in Columbus, Ohio, Scrape spent countless hours listening to artists such as Baby Face, while his mother cleaned the home. Fascinated by the effect music had on her and others, this young man began his pursuit of music.
Scrape began rhyming at the age of 14. He was inspirited by late Hip Hop greats, Tupac and the Notorious BIG. True to his name, Skyscraper became unstoppable, towering over fellow rappers physically and lyrically. At the age of 16, he began to earn respect by battling emcees on the streets of Columbus. He perfected his skills by winning local talent shows and conquering freestyle competitions. Soon word began to spread about Scrape and he started getting requests for appearances at the local radio station.
In 2003, Skyscraper was invited to open up Jay-Z, 50 Cent and Eminem at the “Rock the MC Tour.” The thrill of performing for over 15,000 cheering fans was a confirmation that he was on the right path. Determined to take destiny into his own hands, Scrape started his own label, Skyline Entertainment. Now at the age of 25, this talented artist is ready to take on the world.
