Screaming Tarts is an independent online alternative music magazine based in the UK featuring news, reviews, interviews, competitions, photos, blogs, downloads, videos and more...
The site originally started life in the summer of 2002 as a paper based zine called Truth And Beauty but after selling just 11 copies moved to the internet at the start of 2003 under the name Suicidal Trash in an attempt to reach a wider audience.
Towards the end of that year the band Phluid were described in a press release as being "Screaming Tarts". Those two words inspired not only a name change, but a complete overhaul of the site. Suicidal Trash became Screaming Tarts at the beginning of 2004. The site was re-launched on Jan 1st 2005 at a new dot com address. Since then it has gone from strength to strength.
Over the years we have released various compilation albums featuring the likes of Rachel Stamp, Kinesis, Scarlet Soho, Sack Trick, Drugdealer Cheerleader, Antiproduct, Teenage Casket Company, Electric Eel Shock, McQueen, Miss Black America, My Ruin, David R Black, Patchwork Grace, Star Scream, Devilish Presley, Zen Motel, Robin Black, Slaves to Gravity, Obsessive Compulsive, Disarm, X Is Loaded and In So Far amongst others...
