We need a place for local DIY shows and no one listens. The only way to put on a show right now is to rent an over priced VFW hall or community center or to send all bands to 18+ bars. It is completely ridiculous to have to either pay 300+ dollars to book a venue or to have to drive 45 minutes in either direction for a show. After Katrina there were NO excuses to NOT build a place for kids to do something OTHER than football, soccer, or roller-blading (or other typical American-dream-sports). I for one am tired of going bowling every night! Not only that but where are all of the people that give a rats ass about punk kids?! This shit has to change - we need a venue! -in every city! -along the entire gulf coast! And we are going to be a big pain in the ass to EVERYONE with space that they don't want to share for the well-being and social satisfaction of this generation of angry little punk rock kids for as long as it takes to get them to share. As you all know we were doing shows at the VFW hall on Dedeaux Rd...They increased the price and changed the rules drastically...we stopped doing shows there...now, nothing goes on there (well, the tool sale thing does, I think). However, we were their business, we were very respectful, and took care of everything with professionalism BUT when they realized they could make a buck off of us things changed. That is the kind of CRAP I am completely tired of. But wait...Do the show at your house?! Yeah, right - neighbors and police will have you shut down in 5 seconds. The local bar?! Sure, but then what about the 17 year old who is responsible enough but not given the chance to go because of some roid-usin' bouncer checkin' ID's?! WE WANT SHOWS!!! NOW!!!
