About me:
I'm an author of historic true-crime books. Coming in May 2009 is WAR OF WORDS: A TRUE TALE OF NEWSPRINT AND MURDER. Set in 1880s San Francisco, the book tells the tale of Charles de Young, founding editor of the San Francisco Chronicle, and his deadly public feud with Isaac Kalloch, a hellfire preacher whose lust for the ladies equaled his desire to be mayor.

My other books include IN THE DARK: THE TRUE STORY OF THE BLACKOUT RIPPER, published last year by Penguin, tells the tale of Scotland Yard's hunt for a Jack-the-Ripper type killer in 1940s London.

ON THE HOUSE: THE BIZARRE KILLING OF MICHAEL MALLOY, also published by Penguin, hit stores in October 2004. The story of New York City's most outrageous murder, it's an account of criminal stupidity at its grandest.

THE KILLING SKIES, my third book, is something of a departure. Six years of researching and writing, the book is a detailed history of the British bomber offensive against Nazi Germany during the Second World War.

Hi! Just wanted to make sure all my friends know that my 2nd horror novel SACRIFICE is now in stores everywhere, including Amazon.com! I hope you'll check out this debauched and demonic horror ride! Here are a couple reviews it's gotten so far:

“SACRIFICE is a full frontal assault on your senses. It is a dark, brutal, bloody and terribly frightening book. Everson went deep into some dark abyss to bring this book to the light of day.... I highly recommend SACRIFICE.”
—Famous Monsters of Filmland

“John Everson manages in SACRIFICE to dispense buckets of blood, provide edgy perversity, and walk the tenuous tightrope of horror and sex without falling: It’s rather an amazing feat.” –Hell Notes

For your holiday reading by the yule fire of the computer monitor, I offer "Christmas, the Hard Way." I wrote this short fantasy tale about magic and Christmas more than a decade ago as a gift for friends and family and I've now posted it on my website. I hope my MySpace friends will enjoy it for the first time this year.

For those who'd like a rockin' Christmas Carol to go with their reading, I've also added a song to my MySpace profile that I wrote and recorded a few years back called "Show Me Christmas".
Just click on my MySpace profile to listen!

The Unseen

The next time you switch on your computer, will the unseen be waiting to enter your mind or are they already there?

DI Sean Fagan investigates the ritual murder of young women and finds links between each victim and the world’s most popular computer game, Princess Kay-ling (PKL). When police high-tech units examine hard drives taken from the murder victims’ PCs, traces of subliminal psychotic induction (SPI) are found. This SPI induces victims to trust and obey characters from the PKL game. When a fourth woman is murdered in Ireland, Sean realises he hunts a serial killer capable of global influence. He also discovers the Government is aware and observing. When his own young daughters become involved, nightmare encircles him.

hello Simon
How are things? I hope everything in your publishing world is going full bore. I am doing pretty well, but I may become a subject of one of your books. The city I live in is all bunged up with construction. it is such a small city that one road being bunged cock ups the whole bloody thing. So as a result driving to work is a living hell. i am beginning to have intense homocidial feelings, so if anything happens I give you full rights to my sordid story. Take care and have a pint on me.
