Osei Nimade aka.Scripture is a gospel rapper from Ontario, Canada.The name Scripture is to remind him of the difficult times and spiritual battles in his early teens.
Scripture was born in Ghana, a country in the Western part of Africa. Like many in the country, Scripture grew up in a family with Christ as its primary focus. At the young age of 14, he and his family moved to Brampton, a city just outside of Toronto, Ontario. He discovered his talent and love for writing and rapping while attending his high school, Bramalea Secondary School. Scripture teamed up with his classmate Black-Face to form a duo that had a dream of making it big rapping about the streets. The duo recorded "Fake Homies" their first track in '98 at the Aqua Sound Studio. A couple of years later, Scripture who then went by the name "Most Wanted" and his partner Black-Face teamed up with two other street rappers S-green and Topstar to form the Knightsbridge Squad (KBS) representing their neighbourhood Knightsbridge.
Scripture first learned about Gospel Rap when his younger brother introduced him to the music of Crossmovement Record's Da Truth in 2004.That same year Scripture was caught in a life threatening
situation when a performance at the Royal Canadian Legion Hall turned to violence where gun shots were fired. Worried about the path his life was heading to, he decided to attend the powerful All Nations Full Gospel Church Youth Encounter, a program that continues to set young people on fire for Christ till this day. Scripture gave his life to the lord and received a vision to spread the gospel to today's youth through his music. The rising gang violence in Toronto and its surrounding cities inspired Scripture to release his first album "The Gun or The Cross... The album encourages the youth to drop the gun and pick the cross to experience a joyful life through Jesus Christ.
Scripture's goal is to be a soul winner, he strongly beliefs that the best way to win the youth to Christ is by speaking their language through his music. And with the help of the Holy Spirit he will do just that.
