Romulus Football Club are a semi-professional side who play in the British Gas Business Football League. Currently based at Coles Lane, Sutton Coldfield, the club have made rapid strides up the non-league pyramid since moving into the senior game from Sunday football nine years ago.
During those nine years the club have achieved a remarkable record of 7 top 5 finishes in 9 seasons and during that time have won three promotions.
The club also have a proud history in junior football. Formed in 1979 as a junior club Romulus FC have seen many of their alumni go on to play professionally with the likes of Zat Knight, Darius Vassell, Luke and Stefan Moore and Luke Rogers all having pulled on the famous Red and White stripes.
The club have recently reformed their highly successful youth development scheme with sides at U16 and U14's level competing in the MJPL during the 2007/08 season and it is hoped the development scheme will expand further for the 2008/09 season.
Who I'd like to meet: Like many non-league clubs, Romulus relies on the support of a committed band of volunteers and supporters to help keep the club running and we are always keen to meet up with people who would like to get involved and help out behind the scenes.
We are also on the lookout for sponsors. We have plenty of packages available which include shirt sponsorship, match sponsorship, match ball sponsorships and player sponsorships. For those who wish to get involved through sponsorship we are more than happy to discuss the options and offer a package which suits the individual or company.
For those who just want to enjoy a game of football admission is just £5 for adults and £3 for concessions. Hot and cold food is available from the clubhouse and there are seated and standing areas in the ground dependent on your individual needs. Additionally there is adequate car parking in the ground for supporters and a fully licensed bar.
