Scrubs of Key West began in 1994 by a nurse, native to the area. She had only a one-bedroom house with two machines and a dining-room table that doubled as a cutting board. The bright, tropical colors and prints of her scrubs were a hit and they spread quickly throughout the island's medical offices and hospitals.
The first Scrubs of Key West store was opened in 1998 (in Key West). It featured a large showroom and in-house seamstress for custom sewing services.
In February 2003, locals (conchs), also in the medical profession, purchased the business. They continue to offer quality craftsmanship Scrubs of Key West customers have come to expect and appreciate. New and exciting prints have been added along with vibrant, solid, color fabrics to create a variety of mix-and-match coordinating combinations.
All stores, the original in Key West, the upper keys, north of the seven-mile bridge (in Tavernier), and our newest in St. Augustine, are a favorite stop for both tourists and locals. So, the next time your in the Keys stop in to one of our locations or give us a call, we would love to meet you!
