About me:
Scruffy Live has gone monthly…
Music lovers can now witness the cream of the crop playing at Scruffy Live; the night has now moved to a monthly slot in the intimate new live venue, The Star of Bethnal Green. Expect both new and established bands plus some exciting one-off sets - Metronomy played a special ‘acoustic’ show recently, and May 21st saw guests Iglu and Hartly, John and Jehn and AA Bondy play an amazing triple bill.
Each month, doors open at 8pm, live bands perform at 9pm and 10pm, and Scruffy DJs afterwards playing the best in indie, rock’n’roll, electro, pop, yacht rock, and essentially anything good.

Weds July 2nd
Devon’s finest, The Rumble Strips, return with an intimate show at The Star of Bethnal Green July 2nd. Special guests The Brute Chorus, will open the show and bring their unique brand of eclectic Rockabilly blues to the Scruffy live night.
Doors open at 8pm, live bands will perform at 9pm and 10pm, and Scruffy DJs afterwards playing the best in indie, rock’n’roll, electro, pop, yacht rock, and anything good.
The Rumble Strips
Currently writing their second album – the follow up to last year’s sound of the summer debut album ‘Girls and Weather’ - The Rumble Strips are soon set to head into the studio to record their second album, with some very exciting news about this to be announced very soon. This is a must-see show in a tiny venue and the band will be previewing new material live for the first time.

The Brute Chorus
Scattering their electrifying live set with garage, blues and folk music since last year, this critically acclaimed London outfit have gained interest from music fans and critics alike. With their off-kilter lyrics which tell of biblical stories, nursery rhymes and fairy tales, it’s no wonder they are much-lauded by a host of industry names including Steve Lamacq, Zane Lowe, NME and The Fly to name a few. Their appearance at this intimate live venue comes ahead of their appearances at a string of Summer festivals including Glastonbury and Secret Garden.

Chester French
Hotly tipped act from the US of A, with their first UK performance at Club Scruffy. "When I first heard Chester French, I felt like I had stumbled upon two geniuses," says Pharrell Williams, who signed the duo to Star Trak / Interscope records in the Spring of 2007. "It's been a long time since I've heard a project teeming with this sort of musicality and originality," he continues. "You're going to watch history unfold with these guys. I feel it in my gut."
