If I had to describe myself in one word, I'd choose "curious". I'm fascinated by new things. It's the reason I love travel so much. I can go to the zoo or an aquarium over and over - because even though you see many of the same animals, you observe new behaviors each time. I like to people wach for the same reason. Talk about a host of different behaviors - especially if there's alcohol involved. I'm from New Orleans, and I've seen people do things the would never do at home...
I call myself a "wanderer" and not a "drifter". A drifter has no home, or moves it on a whim. I had a taste of that and hated it. I like to venture forth from a home base. But when the adventure is done, I want to return to the familiar.
I enjoy life, with all of it's promises and possibilities. I am a true romantic at heart, and I hope to find a suitable travelling companion with whom to share this journey called "life". Someone who has the same love of the journey irregardless of the destination. I'm past wanting to raise a family at this point in my life - I want to learn all about this wonderful world, and I'll leave my mark by sharing those experiences with anyone who'll listen. I like the role of "Teacher" - but the teacher must also never stop learning...
You Are a Prophet Soul
You are a gentle soul, with good intentions toward everyone.
Selfless and kind, you have great faith in people.
Sometimes this faith can lead to disappointment in the long run.
No matter what, you deal with everything in a calm and balanced way.
You are a good interpreter, very sensitive, intuitive, caring, and gentle.
Concerned about the world, you are good at predicting people's feelings.
A seeker of wisdom, you are a life long learner looking for purpose and meaning.
You are a great thinker and communicator, but not necessarily a doer.
Souls you are most compatible with: Bright Star Soul and Dreaming Soul
One of my favorite places to be is anywhere with family and friends. Family is getting a little thin these days, but I have plenty of friends. My friends are my greatest blessing. Without them, I might well have lost my smile as the winds of circumstance shredded my life.
Rain Dancing - Jazz Fest 2008
I tend to be accommodating to a fault simply because it is only about the IMPORTANT things that go against my conscience or convictions that I would argue. I refuse to argue over stupid, insignificant topics such as: which restaurant to go to, what movie to see, etc.
While I enjoy scuba diving and auto racing, I'm not a risk taker by any means. I enjoy a well-controlled thrill.
I also like writing short stories, photography, concerts and festivals, travel, and cooking. Which are very low-risk activities (at least until you flame the Bananas Foster...)
Love It: The sunshine, the smell of salt air on a sea breeze, watching fireflies while a train whistles in the distance; sitting on a porch swing listening to cicadas; the smell of rain; Barq's Root Beer & Saints football; big hugs, snuggling, holding hands, & deep kisses; I loved hearing my mom's piano playing "Go Tell It On The Mountain" or "Silver Bells" at Christmas time; sleeping in; dancing barefoot in the sand; old horror movies and romantic comedies; my pets; and being with my family and friends.
Hate It: Cruelty to people and animals; people who are selfish, mean, obnoxious, intolerant, lazy, manipulative, dishonest, or judgmental; wet socks or tennis shoes; burned toast, pig's feet, brussel sprouts, and beets.
Music
Sean Costello (1979-2008)- Northside Tavern, Atlanta
Revelator - Gillian Welch & Dave Rawlins at Jazz Fest 2007
For me, it's classic Rock and roll from the 60's on up, modern country, blues, rockabilly, and "island music" which covers "Gulf & Western" as well as a little merengue and salsa...
Movies
"Joe vs the Volcano", "Young Frankenstein", "Casablanca" when I'm in a classic mood, "Practical Magic", "The Mighty Quinn", "Bullitt", "Captain Ron", "A Knight's Tale", and a few others fall into my "watch over and over" category. Romantic comedies and good suspense stories are usually a good bet for me and a good soundtrack always helps...

You are intelligent, witty, a bit geeky and have great power and responsibility.
I'll watch "Two and a half Men" and "Friends" reruns along with old favorites "Bones", "Dexter", "Saving Grace", and "True Blood". New shows that have caught my attention are "Lie To Me", "Fringe", and "Leverage".
Books
I just finished "Break In" by Dick Francis and the first two books of the "Twilight" series by Stephanie Meyer. I'm currently working on a collection of short stories by Stephen King before I move onto either the next Dick Francis book or "Eclipse", the next Stephanie Meyer book. (Borrowed books need to be read first...) :-)
Heroes
The opinions expressed here are not those of my employer, my church, or myself... But they are the opinions of Elvis as revealed to me through the medium of my pet hamster, Lee Harvey Oswald...
Ruthless, passionate, ravenous and--when it comes to it--devoted to those you love. Sound okay? Sounds like Spike, a character at times a hero and others a villain, but always compelling, dynamic and driven.
Based on the results of this test, you're like Spike in every way but the fangs.
Congratulations!
You are a total daydreamer, and people tend to think you're flakier than you actually are.
While your head is often in the clouds, you'll always come back to earth to help someone in need.
Beyond being a caring person, you are also very intelligent and rational.
You understand the connections of the universe better than almost anyone else.
You have a classic style, but you're up-to-date with the latest technology. You're ambitious, competitive, and you love to win. Performance, precision, and prestige - you're one of the elite, and you know it.
About me:
I'm a New Orleans native and a Katrina evacuee. 3 years later, I still miss my home town, but I am with good friends in Atlanta, I'm settled in a good life here, and I still have lots of connections in case I'm in need of some great Louisiana food... :-)
I am the son of the son of a sea cook - which I believe may explain my wanderlust, my penchant for a sea breeze, as well as a hearty appreciation of exotic and delicious foods. :-)
I love the beauty of unspoiled nature, and especially the sea. The best vacation I ever had was diving off the coast of Panama. We were diving places that had only ever been seen on a fish finder. We were the first people to lay eyes on a couple of the undersea mounts. What an experience!
I would also like to see Europe - but I'd like to get out into the countryside and see the smaller, less travelled places. For me, the smaller, the better. If you have a limited time to soak up a new place, then I like a small place so you can get to know it well.
I recently dove Looe Key reef for a week. It's a small section of protected reef in great condition, but you go to basicly the same site every day. By the end of the week, we knew the place like a divemaster - the big grouper hangs out here, there's a cleaning station over there, this is the spot where the sharks cut through from the deeper water... :-) Yes - divers (especially underwater photographers) actually HOPE to see sharks in the water...
Much of this stuff is also in my personal web page I keep vowing to update. If you want to check on some ancient history, see:
Who I'd like to meet:
Someone who is GENUINE. If I were to enumerate the "must haves" in a relationship, they would deal more with character and personality than with whether or not she's good looking. A generous and honest heart is a loving heart.
Benny Grunch - Over By Your Mom'n'Em
I love photography. Perhaps it's because I was cursed with a memory like a seive - it's nice to be able to go back to the photographs and fill in the blanks. I enjoy looking at other people's photographs as well - I like to see what their vision might be, how it's different than mine, or learn about people and places I've never seen (back to "curious" again).
Al Scramooza and Seafood City
I have been told that I'm geeky, nerdy, odd, whimsical, affectionate, kind, generous, dependable, and friendly. I have a quirky sense of humor that only those who are close to me ever see. I don't do shallow and I don't play games. I'm an email junkie and I enjoy staying in touch with people who are special to me.
I relish intelligent conversation. If I don't know about it, then I want to learn about it. Just don't be offended if I seek out some corroboration. It's not that I don't trust you - but I like to be sure facts are indeed facts.
