Sounds Like
The Dillinger Escape Plan, Meshuggah (these are bands people often compare our sound to)
But Scud have a very unique live sound which is hard to achieve through recordings and therefore making a live performance their main focus. To witness them you will experience insane intenisty of calculated percussive beats and mayhem of a brutal nature.
<..
Scud are a 4 piece brutal tech/prog metal band from the small Perthshire village of Burrelton. They became a band in 1999 and played their first gig in the summer of 2000 at the Plough Inn in Perth. The band is made up of the founding members Martin Robbie (guitar) and Ross Tanbini (drums). Both had known each other for many years previous and a shared passion for metal music combined with the boredom of living in Burrelton spawned the creation of the band. Fraser Stewart (bass) was a friend of Martin and Ross's from school and is the only member to stay in Perth. Kristian Sator (vocals) knew Ross and Martin and was frequently present at band practises, till one day he showed his vocal potential and was recruted as the singer.
To date the band have a collection of over 20 original songs and have played many gigs in the local areas of Perthshire and Tayside. Through all of these gigs no covers have ever been played. The band are influenced by many different bands, too many to start to list, but the style of music created and played has been compared to the likes of Meshuggah and The Dillinger Escape Plan. This is probably due to the song structures and time changes present in the songs.
The band have released 3 cds to date, the most recent being the 'Data Corrupt' album released in 2004 featuring 10 songs and totaly over 50 minutes long. New material is being written at the moment and another release will be planned when enough new songs are finished.
Sadly Scud have now departed ways branching off into three different bands. Ross (drummer) and Kristian (vocals) are now in a band Called AORTA - Martin (guitar) is in FLOODS OF FIRE CITY - and Fraser (bass) in ALCHEMIST.
Through out Scuds reign at the top of the local metal scene. They wrote many many songs including songs they never had a chance to play live. Here is a short list of of some of them.

first song from new demo is now up on our profile, it's a super demo version, pre mix etc, i've just bounced to a stereo file, panned some guitars and whacked it up, so it's a touch rough but a proper version, along with the other new songs will be up so as i can manage.
so go have a listen and leave's a wee comment folks.
Someone stole this guitar from me while we were touring with Horse The Band! Of all the places it could be stolen from it was taken from the Stage at Fibbers in York (where i used to live). Stealing is fucking wrong but stealing guitars from struggling bands is fucking evil. Its not the money so much as the time it takes to get your hands on £1200!! I'll buy a new one but its the principle. So i beg you, whether you know or like me or my band, to keep an eye out for this guitar when you go to a gig or guitar shopping across the country. The guitar is rare enough to raise suspicion so just keep an eye out.
For those interested its an SC607 custon 7 String guitar with EMG active pickups and sunburst finish. It had the Steph Carpenter signature inlay on the 12th fret and the serial number wo414770 clearly displayed on the headstock. It was two weeks old and had been gigged 3 times!
