SCUM

Sunshine Coast United Music was started by Chips and Scotty early 2006. The Sunshine Coast hardcore scene had all but died by mid 2005 because of new liquor licensing laws. There were little to no shows and the bands that were held together by the small but dedicated scene & fans were dwindling away.
Late 2005 I (Scotty) called chips and said I wanted to put on a few shows to give the scene a bit of a pulse again. It turns out, Chips had exactly the same idea but just needed some help, so we put our two ugly noggins together and started what is now SCUM or Sunshine Coast United Music. We had a lot of trouble in the first few months trying to find venues, cash flow and the usual stuff.
We've both been in the scene here for quite a long time and couldn't accept to see the end of it. So we 'revived it'... and that's how we got the slogan thingy on our logo.... "New life to these bones".
We are 100% DIY and only do this for the love of hardcore. We're setting out to not only put on shows, but put the pride, passion, heart and dedication back into the scene, our scene... your scene.
