Founded way back in 1998 by guitarist Steve Salazar and drummer Alex Carrillo,
they have been trying to break into the Texas music scene with little success. Largely in part, due to unsuccessfully finding a lead singer for the group. They did however, record two demos. 2001's self titled "Scumby" and 2004's "Miseroth 2... music to accompany your suicide". Since releasing those 2 discs, they've played only a handful of shows in their hometown of San Antonio, Texas with both Steve and Alex sharing vocal duties and for a brief period, having Richard Cooremans of S. A.'s Anomik as their frontman. In late 2006, Steve decided to disband the group as he saw no future for the band. Earlier this year however, at the urging of their former bass player Jake Cadena, Steve and Alex have come together once again and have brought on Alex's younger brother Rudy on bass guitar. A few rehearsals have taken place and Scumby is ready to break out of the garage, eagerly awaiting their next live performance. It is not one to be missed as Scumby are truly a live band that do not follow into the trends of current rock and metal music.

Gather up some buddies and chip in the money to take a 15 minute drive. Pop Pistol is gonna be playing at Scout Bar @ 10PM Thursday night. I can't stress enough how amazing the sound is there. Scout Bar is located at 281 & Redland, just past loop 1604 on the right. Trust me, it'll be worth the trip. Just be sure and tell 'em you're there to see Pop Pistol. > Please pass it on.
