THE MAN:
SD, born 1977, experiments with a revolving group of friends/musicians, in a journey to find his own music. The tentative results of this musical journey is his debut album. The album's name – EPILOG (Epilogue), proves what we can further expect from him, because the last will be the first.
THE MUSIC:
This instrumental album essentially orientates itself on the soundscapes of the late sixties and early seventies, which is then fleshed out with the possibilities of utilizing modern synthesized sounds that anyone finds in Indie pop. The colorful tones of technical components and leveled instruments brings it all together. Keyboard instruments such as Hammond Organ, Moog or other analogue synthesizers are skillfully blended with the prevalent acoustic instrumentation of rock, such as guitar, bass and drums. His music brings to mind an array of bands from the experimental music of Pink Floyd or Manfred Mann's Earth Band from the seventies, as well as contemporary acts such as Post-Rocker Mogwai, the French duo Air or even the Downtempo Zero7.

SD, Jahrgang 77, experimentierte mit Hilfe befreundeter Musiker, um zu seinem Stil zu finden. Auf seinem Debütalbum ist das vorläufige Ergebnis dieser musikalischen Suche zu hören. Dass wir Weiteres erwarten dürfen beweist der Name des Albums: EPILOG. Weil: Das Letzte wird das Erste sein.
ZUR MUSIK:
Grundlegend orientiert sich das Instrumentalalbum an den Klängen der späten 60er-Jahre beziehungsweise der frühen 70er-Jahre. Dieser Stil wird ergänzt durch die Möglichkeiten des modernen synthetischen Sounds, den man heute bei diversen Bands des Underground-Pop findet. Dabei setzt sich der Klangcharakter aus technischen Komponenten und eingespielten Instrumenten zusammen. Neben dem gängigen Rockinstrumentarium wie Gitarre, Klavier, Saxophon, Schlagzeug und Bassgitarre sind Klänge der Hammondorgel, des Moog und anderer bekannter Synthesizer zu hören. Vergleichen ließen sich die Stücke am ehesten mit Titeln der frühen Experimentalisten wie Pink Floyd oder Manfred Mann..s Earth Band sowie heutigen Klanggestaltern wie Mogwai, Air und Zero7.
