| About Shawn Dell Makes Hitz! |
Knowledge, Self-Determination, and Perseverance. These are just a few words that describe Shawn Dell. Born in Florida and raised in Texas, Shawn Dell grew up listening to the godfather's of southern rap and also paying close attention to their producers. Influenced by Rick Rubin, Dr. Dre, Timbaland and many more top producers in the game and not just rap, Shawn knew at an early age that one day he would be involved somehow in the Music Industry. After he graduated from High School, he enrolled in the United States Marine Corps., where he served his country for six years, including doing two tours overseas during 9/11. While he was serving, he continued to educate himself in school and with music. Shortly after being Honorably Discharged from the service, he suffered a huge loss in his family. His Mom pasted away from a terrible case of Cancer. Shawn was lost and didn't know how to deal with this pain, so he did one thing that his mom always said to him while he was growing up and that was Music. In 2006, Shawn Dell enrolled in a Recording Arts program and bought his first MPC and Pro Tools setup. Never being trained in music besides playing the trumpet in school, he started making beats and recording local artists in his area. Within two years, Shawn Dell has made his stamp in his city and throughout the Music Industry, already working with top artists in the majors to up and coming artists of the future. But, Shawn doesn't just produce Hitz, he is also known for his recording and mixing skills, which he is in the beginning stages of opening up his own Professional Studio in Austin. Currently, he is working together with Austin's premier artist J. Kapone, who is on his way to signing a Major Deal. Shawn Dell ! Don't be surprised to hear this name a lot in 2009 and not just in Texas.
