Born June 23, 1981 Joseph (KillJoy) McCallister in Emporia, KS. Father went to prison at age 5. Adopted by stepfather at age 6. Mother and step father divorced at 12. KillJoy, his mother, his younger brother, and younger sister moved to California. Older brother went to prison on a life sentence and died later that year in prison. At age 13 his mother abandoned her 3 remaining children. KillJoys aunt found him sleeping outside a liqour store with his younger brother and sister and took them in. He then lived with his aunt from ages 14-17, when he moved to San Diego. KillJoy is a solo hip hop artist/producer. He has released one pro pressed album as well as appeared on over 20 other group albums, mixtapes, and soundtracks. Known mostly for his incredibly diverse and widely ecclectic production style he has produced records for artists from California, Illinois, Ohio, Indiana, Kansas, Missouri, New York, Massachusets, New Hampshire, Canada, Florida, and Atlanta. He has had music and interviews both played on the radio, appeared in 2 short films, and been on mixtape blends with R. Kelly and Beyonce.
