I'm all over the place. New Age, Rock, Alternative, Country, oldies. Luv Leona Lewis. HOOBASTANK is great! "The Reason," "The First of Me," are two of my favorites. Anders Manga's Science Fiction and The Source were just added to my iPod. Bon Jovi. Tim McGraw. Luv Brooks and Dunn. Tina Turner. Enya, easy listening music like The Synthenist and Amethystium which are more condusive to writing. At Christmas time - Mannheim Steamroller.
Movies
If you haven't seen The Changling with George C Scott, rent it. It will scare the kajeebies out of you. I like scary movies but not slice and dice. The Sixth Sense, The Day the Earth Stood Still, Andromeda Strain, Close Encounters of the Third Kind, L.A. Confidential, ConAir, The Rock, Predator, Shawshank Redemption, The Lion King (there, I've said it), Titanic, Long Kiss Good Night, Driving Miss Daisy, Independence Day. Also Chick flicks: You've Got Mail, Sleepless in Seattle, While You Were Sleeping. Those are good for nights I want to unwind.
Television
Just discovered Dexter. After watching Season One I bought the books. I'm almost embarrassed to admit that I luv this serial killer. What a concept for a new type protagonist. I also like all the CSI programs, Bones, The Unit, Monk, 24, Moonlight, The Closer, Animal Planet, Numbers, NCIS, House, a mix of news and political talk programs, and, believe it or not, I love What Not to Wear. WHAT I MISS: Joan of Arcadia, Dark Angel, Witchblade, X-Files.
Books
Mysteries, especially those laced with a little paranormal, fantasy, or horror. Love Carol O'Connell, Simon Green, Preston Douglas/Lincoln Child, Peter James, Jim Butcher, Julia Spencer Fleming, F. Paul Wilson, Michael Crichton, Stephen King, Stephen Booth, too many to mention. The Mystery Mavens are great!
When I was a child, I was afraid of everything -- images on a wall from my nightlight, loud noises, crowds, thunder and lightning. The Wizard of Oz gave me nightmares. Now I write about shapeshifters and cops who can hear the dead speak.
I write the Sam Casey Series which features a detective who can hear the dead speak. Think Medium with a Native American twist. There are four books in the series. WHEN THE DEAD SPEAK and RESTLESS SPIRIT are also available in large print in the UK. Harlequin/Worldwide published the paperback version of RESTLESS SPIRIT for their on-line book club. ECHOES FROM THE GRAVE, the 4th Sam Casey, was released August 2007.
I also write the Chase Dagger series under the pseudonym of Lee Driver. Dagger is assisted by a shapeshifter, a young woman who can shift into a hawk or a wolf. Dagger takes on cases that are more like X-Files. THE GOOD DIE TWICE, FULL MOON-BLOODY MOON (not for the faint at heart), and THE UNSEEN are also available in unabridged audiobook from Books in Motion as well as in large print in the U.K.
My latest release, THE SKULL, is a mystery for young adults (age 12 and older). Three thirteen-year-olds dabble in CSI to solve a town's long-kept secret. Feel free to check out sample chapters at www.sdtooley.com
Who I'd like to meet: Librarians, booksellers, readers and writers of mysteries, suspense, thrillers, and mysteries with a dab of sci-fi, fantasy, horror. Young adult readers welcome.
I haven't been by in a while and thought I'd stop in and say hi. It's Monday again. I'm back to work on a new book.
A Demon Awaits will be out on October 14th. I'm excited for the release and waiting for news about the screenplay. If nothing else, the new book will keep my mind off the waiting.
Just sending some love. Have you been to the casino lately? Just a crazy question...Do you ever read for pleasure and if so what/who do you like to read?

It's been a long summer but salmon fishing season ends this month and I'm hoping that life will have a "normal" routine again. (LOL -- Is there really any such thing as "normal"?)
Hope you had a great Labor Day weekend, a decent short week and are looking forward to a really good weekend again (Isn't it great to have just four days between weekends sometimes? Where do we sign up to do this every week?)
