I first started DJ’ing in the late 90’s just collecting records and deejaying in my bedroom. In early 2000 I started playing as part of sound called The Satisfaction Crew, playing in West End clubs like Villa Stefano, Chocolate Bar, Sins, Hanover Grand, Bar Med, the list goes on… and on radio stations such as Silk Room 94fm and Flashback fm 99.3fm. While playing with Satisfaction Crew, I was responsible for the Bashment with the other selectors on the sound catering for the other types of music. Now as a solo DJ I play every type of music from Party Classics to Reggae to Funky House, but I specialise in RnB, Hip Hop and Bashment.
Even though I loved DJ’ing there was something more I needed, something was missing. It was a good feeling playing tunes getting people dancing, but it wasn’t me who produced the track, writing the lyrics or singing/rapping.
Well I was hopeless at singing, so that was out of the question LOL, that’s when I decided to get into music production. I first started producing in 2001 going to local studios, then I decided to take it a bit more serious and invested in my own music production equipment. Over the years I’ve worked with many underground UK artists and have a few tracks out there on mix tapes. The genre of music I mainly produce is Hip Hop and R&B, although I have a catalogue of beats of all types of music genres. I wouldn’t describe my style as similar to any famous producers as I always try to be different and original.
In early 2002 saw the premature end of The Satisfaction Crew, as different commitment took us in different directions. This was a time of reflection for me and deciding what move to make next. This is where I decided to focus on University commitments, I would still do production and deejaying from time to time & keep up to date with the music, purchase tunes and mix at home, but I wasn’t active on the club circuit as when I first started. While in university I got involved with the ACS section of the student union and would help put on events and also dejay at these events.
In 2005 I become active on the club circuit once again, but this time as a solo DJ, mainly in clubs in South London and in 2007 moving on the the City circuit.
