Seafood Hotline started in late 2003 when Brian Hongsermeier and Joe Leslie decided that their time spent outside the restaurant they both worked for would be better spent writing songs and drinking beer than draining kiddie pools in search of lifesaving bacteria.
Hong and Joe found common ground in Heavy Metal, Jimi Hendrix, and anything that made people uneasy.
Four practice spaces, two throat surgeries, and ALOT of time spent contemplating the aesthetics of the Sasquatch/Yetti later, Seafood Hotline prepare themselves for numerous recording sessions, as many shows as they can handle, and adoration from millions of their ancestors.
A recent write-up in the Nashville Rage had this to say:
" Seafood Hotline are a brilliantly named new Murfreesboro art-rock duo who manage to marry Pavement’s slacker delivery with the oddball aesthetic convulsions of The Residents without sounding silly. Weird and worth your time. "
Wow! The Residents Huh? COOL
That's fuckin' uncanny! I just listened to that whole 37 minute recording in my bus bunk lastnight! Unreal!! Chili spaghetti is already a hit in my mind!! see you soon my good brother!
Hey Joe, Watcha doing with that gun in you hand? Happy b-day man. Thanks for remembering mine. I celebrated last night with some good old square dancing. I think I rode on a unicorn at midnight last night just to celebrate their day of acceptance!! Hope you are well.
