This is a U.S. website dedicated to the UK-based indie/rock band, Seafood. Hopefully, through this page more people can hear about this talanted band. The goal here is to increase Seafood's popularity here in the United States.

"British indie rock quartet Seafood first came to the attention of the music press via a series of limited-edition singles on the independent Fierce Panda and Kooky labels. The band had come together in 1996 when bassist Kevin Hendrick and drummer Caroline Banks spotted an advert vocalist/guitarist David Line and guitarist Charles McLeod had placed in a classified newspaper. They were signed to a short-term deal by Fierce Panda in 1997, after their fourth gig. After playing two U.K. tours and releasing the "Scorch Comfort," "Psychic Rainy Nights," and "Porchlight" singles, the Messenger in the Camp compilation was issued in late 1998. In 1999, Seafood signed a permanent deal with Fierce Panda and released their full-length debut, Surviving the Quiet. After tours supporting Llama Farmers and Idlewild, Seafood made their American debut at the CMJ Festival in New York. Successive singles -- "This Is Not an Exit," "Belt," and "Led By Bison" -- breached the U.K. Top 100 as the band continued building a solid fan base.

2001 saw Seafood recording their second album in New York with Girls Against Boys' Eli Janney handling production duties. The resulting When Do We Start Fighting... received excellent reviews in the U.K. music press. Seafood followed the release with more heavy touring, including supports with Placebo and My Vitriol. Overseas, America got their taste of Seafood when When Do We Start Fighting was issued on Nettwerk in April 2002. A subsequent tour with Dashboard Confessional and European dates with Ash and Jimmy Eat World coincided the band's stance inside the press." ~ Simon P. Ward, All Music Guide

"Cloaking," "Splinter," and "Western Battle" were the three singles released from When Do We Start Fighting, respectively. "Pleasurehead" was released as a split single with the band Jetplane Landing in June 2002.

In 2004, Seafood released the new song "Summer Falls" as a download only/promotional single. This was followed by their single, "Good Reason," from their upcoming third full-length album. Seafood released their third full length album, As The Cry Flows, in May 2004. Following this release was the third and final single from the album, "Sleepover" in October 2004.

In 2006, Seafood released their 4th album called Paper Crown King in the UK on Cooking Vinyl Records in August. The July single "Signal Sparks" preceeded the album release. "I Will Talk" was released in October as Seafood's 2nd single from Paper Crown King. Paper Crown King was recorded and produced by the band at their own London studio called "Neat Science." It was then lovingly mixed by the fair hands of Eli Janney of (Girls Against Boys) in New York on a very windy West28thSt. [source Kev P]. Following the release of Paper Crown King, bassist Kevin Hendrick and Seafood parted ways. Seafood is currently looking for an alternate record label to release material in the U.S. on. However, U.S. fans can purchase Seafood's albums from a number of places including those linked to from this site.

Check out Seafood's Official Website for more details. This myspace website is not ran by the band.

Just wanna say a big thank-you to all of you in the USA. We really appreciate your support and would love nothing more than to get our sorry asses over there to play for you. However as you will already know on 5th Sept in the UK we release our fourth record PAPER CROWN KING. Currently we have no record company in place to release this record in America and are trying to find ourselves a new one. Do any of you work or know someone working for a good US record company one that seems to support it's artists well, and might help fund us a few airfairs for a US jaunt or two? Send out the search party!
