Viv Stanshall played in York just before he died and a friend of mine was the promoter for the gig. Viv insisted on having a grand piano provided. When my friend asked the keyboard player about this, he was bemused, as he always brought his own electronic keyboard. It appeared that Viv just loved the smell of a Grand, and couldn't perform without one.
