SEA GUNs have released their debut album 'Fuck the Robots' as a free download available from their myspace page. A limited hard copy will follow later in the month. Tour dates for the new year are currently being booked.
SEA GUNs stood in sight of the young Sargeant brothers home,
years ago defending British coastlines from attack by air.
Now they stand as British alt-rock at its most explosive.
Early years gigging Brighton as 'JFP' developed the brothers
writing - always melodic, ever more truthful and passionate.
An ever changing line up revealed 3 as the magic number,
but they needed a shit hot drummer.
With the tragic death of a friend, one of the Sargeants most
respected and successful pier bands along the southcoast, Sallyforth, was
dispanded and their drummer George Collins found a new creative outlet with the brothers.
People began to take notice. And people wanted to help.
Two friends of the band sacrificed their jobs to help with putting on
their first London shows. Others began recording video
diaries and providing visual projection sets for gigs.
But, drinking cheap vodka with fans in venues car parks (with
the gig money) didn't get them far with local promoters
who also didn't appreciate members of the band sleeping with their
fancies.
Never happy with promoters leeching entry and drink money from
their friends and fans -acting like they're doing you a favour- guerilla
gigs became a favoured outlet for their live show.
When labels and publishers started sniffing around, the band was asked for more tracks, and so they headed into the studio for an album
titled ***k the robots'. . And the guys who lost their jobs got better ones.
