   About Sea Krowns
In 1991 two brothers, Krumbly and Culrin Krown, formed a lo-fi recording project under the nautical moniker "The Sea Krowns." ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Their first release in 1993, "Sea Krowns - Now!", was issued on 8-track. It was mostly crap, but nobody who bought it played it because it was an 8-track tape. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Later that year the band released two more cassettes. First was a bluegrass/industrial noise collage tape called "Family of Krowns" that could clear a room faster than gunfire. After that came "Cast," a ten-song friendly monster of an album that marked the beginning of the porch-rock era. The whole world smiled from ear to ear. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- The mid-to-late nineties found the Krowns rounding out the porch-rock era with two of their finest works, "New Speed Queen" and "Soul Elevator." They also debuted their live sound during this time, a bizarre hybrid of Crazy Horse, Alfalfa (circa "Barber of Seville"), and early nineties riot grrl. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- After a half-dozen shows, the band got tired of lugging heavy boxes around and got back to the business of writing and recording. The best they could come up with was an electronic dub-influenced four-track glurbfest called "Eavler." Favorite response: "I wish the Sea Krowns were dead - or at least harmless alcoholics. I really do." ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Well, it's a whole new century and the Sea Krowns are back. The Krowns recorded "Greyland," their first CDR, earlier this year but haven't released it due to laziness. It's damn good though. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Their new material sounds like rain without water. You'll be thirsty. --Ed Terrell, 2001

Reading a book has yet to catch me a man. I must be reading the wrong books.

What better way to impress that indie kid with the glasses and tattoos? Let them catch you reading a book.

I think I'm taller? But I don't know. I didn't really measure him up. He didn't seem remarkably tall to me though. But maybe he is and I just didn't realise. I'm not really remarkably tall either. He sounded like such a goofy guy too - I really liked him. Really friendly.

I saw Deerhoof just last night. Uh, yeah. I liked them. There was a song about being a man and being a dog. I think that was my favourite. I made friends with the drummer before they played. I didn't know who he was, he was just some friendly guy standing at the merch table. I drew him a program for the show but I think someone thought maybe he drew it and nicked it.

I like how they play the same notes that they sing.
