Becoming increasingly disillusioned with the academic world he found himself in, Sean Sullivan first stumbled into stand-up comedy during the summer of 2003. With four years as director and head-writer of Umass oldest sketch comedy troupe, Active Ingredients, under his belt, Sean quickly established himself as a comic with strong improvisational skills who was not afraid to experiment with the traditional stand-up form. He soon found his home and honed his voice at the Comedy Studio and the Great and Secret Show, where he consistently won over audiences with his smart and loose comedic style.
But unfortunately due to social, economic, and most importantly, parental reasons, Sean was constantly being torn from the Boston comedy scene so that he could continue pursuing his undergraduate degree in Theater from the University of Massachusetts at Amherst. While at Umass, Sean developed his playwriting skills and saw a number of his one act plays performed before very receptive audiences. Feeling trapped by the vast expanses of farmland found in Western Mass, Sean stole away to New York City in the fall of 2004 to serve as a research intern at Late Night with Conan OBrien.
Now, armed with a B.A. from the flagship campus of a fledgling state university system and delusions of grandeur, Sean is poised to continue spreading his brand of loose and refreshing comedy wherever eager audiences wait.
