ABOUT MYSELF: Music is my passion has always been and will always be! It is my form of self expression, intellectual stimulation, and can be my only friend when I have no one else to look to in times of need. I plan to continue to pursue music as a way of life and to take in everything it has to offer.

MUSICAL AMBITIONS: By the way, my name is Sean tomalty I am 20, and I set up this web page as a medium to meet musicians and get my music on a media front for some straight up criticism. I basically have a home studio in my basement (to be exact, an 8chn mixer, a couple mics, guitars, keyboard and bass.. look in my pics if you want to see it!!) the only instrument I don't have access too is a drum kit. So, in turn I'm using a drum machine. I am still looking to be part of a band I just come from a smaller city where musicians are far and few. So, for the time being I'm currently studying jazz at the K.S.M. and am preparing for my auditions to get into various jazz programs across Canada. I'm eager to hear what you guys think so leave me a msg, send me a song, whatever!!

MUSICAL BACKGROUND: At age 6 my parents started me in piano lessons. After a couple years practice I recieved my level 1 conservatory theory. Unfortunately for reasons unknown I stopped playing piano. However soon after I picked up a bass guitar and began playing it on my own time and in the school choir. At 14, I began playing what is now my favorite instrument, guitar. It was in highschool that I joined my first band called "Screamfish" as a guitarist with friends Winston Vihn(bass), Ben Langley(guitar), and Dylan Carquez(drums). In grade 12 we decided as a band to take part in the "let's Make a demo" focus program offered at N.D.S.S. (napanee highschool). This program was an introduction to both music performance and sound production. It was at Let's Make A Demo that Screamfish were able to record their first 5 song demo.(check out purevolume.com/screamfish for some of the tunes!) As highschool came to a close we decided to part our own ways as musicians but not as friends. Since highschool ended in '05, I have been playing with various musicians and have now chosen to pursue all I can from my new love affair with jazz.

H. Jackson Brown: Good character is more to be praised than outstanding talent. Most talents are, to some extent, a gift. Good character, by contrast, is not given to us. We have to build it, piece by piece -- by thought, choice, courage, and determination.
